IMHO this is an example of the only time Mustang and Good should be used in the same Sentance.. http://www.car-accidents.com/pics/1-...4/10-15-04.jpg http://www.muscularmustangs.com/imag...htesting02.jpg OR The the only mustang that deserves respect... http://www.classics.com/images01/bhmb-14.jpg You want to buy a V6 Mustang? If your worried about gas and insurance dont buy a muscle car period. you Cant afford it. |

Yeah but if you are going to buy a Muscle car .. buy a Muscle car... for the Horse power.. to burn the rubber.. if you are worried about insurance and Gas prices.. any mustang or muscle car is not good for you Nothing personal SD4 - I can't resist an op to talk trash on ford or a mustang... :p |

I agree with you on there being a disconnect between wanting image and not getting the GT on the back though. I know that when I see a Mustang, I involuntarily look and see if it's a GT or not. |

I'd get something esp. if you don't want a muscle car...go with some other coupe or sedan vehicle that will look nicer and have more.

If you're asking ChiefsPlanet if it's a good deal, it's not a good deal.
You should have done enough of your own homework to know if it's a good deal or not. Make the salesman call you back. Tell him when he's ready to sell at dealer invoice you'll come back in. |

Thanks. He needs to come down on the price more. Dealer invoice plus $800 in options puts it at around $19,660. |
I think by waiting a week showing interest in the vehicle, haggling for at least an hour then walking out without buying, you can get them to come down at least another 1000 or throw in a 7 year 70,000 mile bumper to bumper extended warranty.
Not a horrible deal as is but you can do better. By the way I believe you will regret owning a black vehicle, unless you like sitting in ovens and love washing cars. |
I'd start my own thread, but you already have the attention of the car people here.
I will be looking for a new (or new to me) car in about a year. I like to start doing my research early, so I can narrow down my choices. I need to keep my payments around $250 or so (I could go up a little, but prefer not to), and I need something that won't cost too much to insure (I'm trying not to get any speeding tickets this year, so hopefully my insurance will go down a little in December). I would absolutely love to have a small SUV. Around the size of the Ford Escape. I REALLY like Jeep Cherokees, but I know I can't afford them. If it's a sedan, I want a 4-door. At least front wheel drive. Mid-sized. Something newer than a 2000. I don't want to go older than what I have now. Any suggestions? |

As for a "new" car, don't buy a freaking SUV. They don't have any more room than a station wagon, they just suck up more gas. Get yourself a nice Dodge Neon size vehicle that's a year or so old and drive it into the ground. |

Opps $1800 in options puts it at $20,660. |

By the way how are you getting so many tickets driving such short distances. The most you can save over those distances is about a minute by speeding, slow down. |
I rented a Dodge Stratus once and fell in love with it. Here's a 2003...

Here's how much edmunds.com estimates is the true cost to own a Ford Mustang for the first 5 years:

Do it. Buy a Mustang! I bought a GT last month and it is amazing! Lots of nice Nissans, Mazdas etc. in the work parking lot, but guess who always gets the attention. I'm happier with my mustang purchase than any other purchase I've ever made. One thing though... EVERYONE I've talked to who got the V6 wishes they would have sprung for the GT. Get the GT or you will surely regret it at some point. My GT gets really good gas mileage too, when I'm not driving aggressively. Here is a great site you should check out. Ask the V6 owners how many would like to take it back for the V8. mustangforums.com I bought my GT for $500 over invoice and that was the best deal I could get from three competing dealerships. It is much harder to get them down on cars that are selling well. They did say that if I would take a V6 I could get it for $200 over invoice. The black ones look sharp but will get quite dirty. I recommend the Red Fire(which I have) or the dark blue. Good luck and if you have any other questions PM me. Buy one! Buy one!! You won't regret it. And whoever that was that was trying to talk you into buying a sedan when you asked about a muscle car... WTF?

I would as Frazod or BigRedChief, they both own a new Mustang. As for the choice of color. I have purchased one new black car, and will never have another.

Most pony's here in the KC area are going for sticker. The V6's you can get 1K off of the sticker price. Supply and demand. It's about the only car that Ford is selling well.
Don't tell the Planet you got a V6 or they will label you a wimp even though they are driving a Saturn. Sounds like a good deal if its in the KC Metro area. I didn't buy mine for a show car but as transportation. In 3 years it will have 100,000 miles and my son turns 16 in those 3 years. |

I posted a thread on here about my friend's '55 Chevy that turns in the low 10's @ 130 mph. He doesn't get beat often but he did lose to a Chevy 4.3 litre V6. It was in a Henry J with a tubular frame but still some of those V6s will really crank.
