Older Movies That Are Forgotten
 

Hate to say, in another thread about Peaky Blinders, Blacklist thread, both of which are a great series, but I get tired after a few views. Thus I needed a break.

So I surfed Netflix and found "Awakenings". One of the better Robin Williams obscure films. Not a fan of Robert De Niro, but a good flick from 1992.

I watched it a long time ago. Glad I found it again. I like historical films and a feel good or bad story.

Recommended.

What other hidden gems are out there...

We all have our preferences. This is a generic, not niche classic ala Rocky Horror Picture Show nor Monty Pythons stuff nor Casablanca.

Oddly enough, recently I’ve started going back and watching “older” movies that I’ve seen once and never again.

So far I re-watched Drive and Smokin’ Aces. Both were as entertaining as I originally remembered.

There was a period I watched that every other year or so. Maybe seen it a half dozen times, but it has now been a while.

I met my future wife shortly after I got off of active duty and told her about the film, and how much I loved it. Somehow she found me a videotape copy of it and gave it to me as a random present.

At my first glance about a future wife as a "ransom present". I thought it would be appropriate.

Brazil. Never heard or watched it. I was stationed in Germany at that time.

Watching now. Highly recommended from many sites.

Lots of older films get forgotten these days because they never show on modern Streaming sites. Brazil is only available on VOD currently

A lot of the old Disney/Touchstone pics have been forgotten about because Disney hasn’t released them on streaming. Ruthless People is one of them.

Sideways - 20 years is old I guess. a lot of people missed it.

Conan the Destroyer - its not nearly as gritty as Conan the Barbarian.
But it is more D&D-ish than the D&D movie that came out a coule years ago.

My wife has been in supply chain logistics for 30 some years and has never seen Over The Top so I made her watch it last night LMAO

Shit got me dusty watching Stallone make his entitled kid arm wrestle a bigger kid at a truck stop diner. The bigger kid actor actually had a black thumbnail, not from being emo like todays pussies but probably because he had a side gig working on 3wheelers for his uncle

Its on Pluto, whatever the **** that channel is

+1 for Smokin Aces. Criminally underrated movie with a superb cast. And damn, Alicia Keys was stupid ass hot in it. Shit.

Pluto and Tubi feel like old school video stores at times. Especially Tubi.
