We're not benefiting from anything there. We're just playing the schedule we were given.

lol.. should they cancel the game before getting the information?

perhaps telepathy?

I mean im.not sure what people expect but of course they don't EXPECT this type of injury. they expect and prepare for the game to go on

No, not even close.

Jesus Christ, read the field man. Said player just had a major medical issue on the field.

10 minutes isn't even close.

This is the type of a situation that definitely warrants cancellation/postponed. There is precedent to this type of situations in other sports, regardless of how late the season is/playoff implications.

Watching ESPN the Bills are still at the stadium and Diggs just walked into the hospital.

I dislike Roger Goodell, a lot.

But, the NFL getting hammered by people like Ryan Clark is getting a little out of hand.

Police stood outside a classroom while children were murdered, and one of the reasons was poor communication between people on the scene.

The Commissioner wasn't in attendance, as far as I know, and the President of the NFLPA was not in attendance, as far as I know.

It is understandable that the decision makers took time to get the correct information, talk to all concerned parties, and discuss options and possibilities, before making a decision or a statement to the media.

This situation is obviously not common, and for the most part unprecedented. The correct decision was made, and that's what matters.

Making millions of dollars playing the game that is a business, then talking about the game that is a business, and then criticizing the game because it's really a business, just doesn't resonate with me.

The NFL didn't come to Ryan Clark's house and force him to play in the NFL, so why suddenly act like the NFL being a business is evil?

Everyone, absolutely everyone involved in the NFL wants the young man to be well and to recover.

I just have no idea what "figuring out a way to intervene" would actually look like. A coin toss to decide a bye in the NFL playoffs?

Friday Night Lights movie had a 3-way coin toss to figure out a spot in the playoffs. It was based on a true story in West Texas high school football. Of course, if KC wins the coin toss there would be a lot of complaints.

This is consistent with the way it played out on TV. The coaches had a much better pulse of the players, so it isn't surprising that they would be in a better position to take the initiative than NFL headquarters. Good for the coaches, and no shade on Goodell (I'm no fan).

Agreed. It's not like they were forcing it. The coaches came together and figured it out. That's how it should be IMO.

They both forfeit if that's the case. Fans and sponsors get their money back too.

BUF was about to get creamed anyway.

How about you un**** your drunk head out of your own ass and read the room dude?

A player just damned near died on the field, had to be revived by CPR and AED.

This is next-level shit going on that players and coaches are NOT accustomed to seeing.

We're talking about life and/or death here, not just a blown ACL.

I wouldn't have any desire to coach after seeing one of the players having to suffer through that.

None. At. All.

It's wild to watch soooo much energy around this game come crashing to a halt.

Kind of puts the hoopla into perspective.

Don't the Chiefs always win coin tosses?

Buffalo beat the Chiefs though. That could be used as a tiebreaker, even if they're 13-3 and the Chiefs 14-3.

No. The NFL rules state that rankings are first determined by W-L-T percentages, not number of losses. There is no tie to break.

Would still surprise me if they hadn't been given some indication by now about what to expect going forward.

And I still don't get being so hard on the NFL in this situation. Whoever made the decision to keep on playing tonight obviously didn't have the on-field context the coaches/players did here and didn't see the seriousness of what happened.
