I thought it was a Tarpon, so I jerked the shit out of it to set the hook and it snapped like a twig.

That Penn should be the last one I have to buy, for this purpose, for another decade.

I'd like to get a Penn Reel to go along with it and pair the Abu Garcia with something a tiny bit lighter for big bassin'.
I'm using a MED/LT Fleuger for bass right now, and while it is a beautiful weapon, it's just not stiff enough for my taste.

It's all about the quality of your guide. Your guide should know where to go, what technique is working, and best bait. Having a cool guide helps a ton.

My father and I have been twice in the last 16 months. A third trip is scheduled for December. We go to lake Texoma. we're also doing some blue cat fishing as well.

Be sure and use fresh shad, I'm not a fan of fake bait for striper.

Persinally, I like white bass fishing better, but a 20 pound striper is enjoyable
