Carl drafted three Hall of Famers in his first 8 years and two in his first four.

Things went sour in his second decade in the job but he wasn’t the reason the Chiefs failed from 1989-2005.

Fair enough, but he was never aggressive, did NOTHING in regards to drafting and developing a legitimate QB prospect, and outlived his usefulness.

Not to mention, he was the king purveyor of sappy, sentimental, 'fan favorite'-retention of players that should have been cut or traded when there were better opportunities, and when THEY outlived THEIR usefulness.

He traded what was essentially a worthless 1st round pick for Joe Montana and signed Marcus Allen.

He was terrible with Herm from 2006-2008 but otherwise, he did the bidding of his head coach.

Jared Allen is a HOFer.

Tamba Hali is a Chiefs HOFer.

How many of that era of players( Charles, Hali, Flowers, Albert etc. ) can we attribute to Herm? Seems like the philosophy changed somewhat upon his arrival, and I'm not referring to the "youth movement" of Herm vs. Vermiel's preference of veterans, I'm recalling that we began to score pretty well on large sweeps across the draft board, top to bottom.

IMO, Carl should have left with Marty. They came in as a team, and should have left as one. Both were clearly past their expiration dates as Chiefs personnel. Had Carl not lingered, he could have possibly rejuvinated his career as Marty did briefly with San Diego.

Sure, Dougy. I'm sure you with your franchise QB and elite D are shaking in your boots.

I guarantee Dee Ford does not play much next year due to the back injury. We will pay him 8 million to be this year's tamba Hali

I'll give you a "tribute" alright, one who sucks the penis...just wait til Saturday.

Time to let go Clay.

The baptisimal waters of the Mahomes river will wash away the Smith scars.

We are re-born.

It's not that, Pitt. Pederson simply recalls the excruciating pain one has to endure when watching Smith attempt to play the game of football.

It's enough to make even the most zealous football fan hurl their $10.00 nachos all over the persons sitting next to them!

wakka-wakka-wakka! :)

The thing I'm second most excited about in regards to the offense, will be observing how the casual fan jumps to their feet and proclaims a Moses-level miracle at how "great the O-line has become"!

IT'S A MIRACLE!

Opening. ****ING. Day.

The crowd is going to be so loud if Mahomes comes out and leads us to 6 on his first possession.

this morning at work, another driver where i work arrived. oddly for whatever reason he is a browns fan. we have spoken all year about mahomes and smith. he would have liked smith in cleveland. didn't know about the trade.

i approached him with this beauty:

My uncle is a Redskins fan and he's laughing about this trade, thinks the Skins are idiots and that it's Donovan Part II.

He hopes the Skins tag and trade Cousins. Weird thought imo, but I think they have the cap to do just that if they wanted to. I'd find it hard to believe it would happen though.
