I can’t imagine the nfl told them it’s fine to leave we already have a reschedule set up. This seems premature by them if true.

Or they already made a decision and aren't announcing it out of respect for player.

My guess is, they were secretly hoping the teams would announce they wanted to finish the game.

or maybe they were hoping..you know.. that Hamlin was OK and they could play the game after a delay?

I mean that's what I kept hoping...

Why? They still had to win at least one game in weeks 17 and 18 in order to secure the 1 seed. If both Buffalo and KC win in Week 18, the NFL can figure out a way to intervene so it's not just winning percentage that determines the seeding or whatever.

Someone brought up a coin toss earlier. I mean, that might be the way to go. I'm not saying that's what they're going to do, because it's very very unlikely that will be the action that takes place, but it's what I would do.

Buffalo beat the Chiefs though. That could be used as a tiebreaker, even if they're 13-3 and the Chiefs 14-3.

I just have no idea what "figuring out a way to intervene" would actually look like. A coin toss to decide a bye in the NFL playoffs?

Doubt anyone with the bills will care about league dictates right now.

Well that's interesting. They wouldn't do that without the NFL giving the go ahead.

They might. Apparently, the NFL wanted them to continue to play after the delay and the coaches/teams decided on their own to not do that.

But that isn't a tie and penalizes the Chiefs. The NFL doesn't give a shit about competitive fairness, sure, but that's a lot.

They probably have it laid out in the rule books.

I'd be shocked if seeding isn't base on winning percentage.

Honestly, at this point, I would have told the NFL to go **** themselves for only caring about the ****ing football game after said player just damned near died on the field, and that reports of the NFL was that they only had "5 minutes to be back on the field."

I'm glad the coaches stepped in and told them "No, we're not playing" and rightfully so.

The NFL needs to un**** their heads out of their asses and start reading the damn room.

Nobody gives a shit about money right now. None. Zip. Zero. Zilch. Nada.
