It's not as simple as "against the blitz". The schematics around the blitz, timing of when to use it and most importantly, the ability for the coverage to hold up on the back end. All of which the Chiefs are special in.

Glad you said that - this is how I've been trying to summarize my offseason outlook for free agency plans on defense.
I will always be a trenches first type of guy when it comes to team building, but taking all factors into consideration - age of players, Spags' scheme, etc - you keep Sneed so this secondary stays together. The skill sets and versatility allow Spags to match up against any offense they could possibly face. The Week 1 Lions game without Jones wasn't perfect, but it was a pretty darn good glimpse at how well the defense can function when the defensive backs alone are doing the heavy lifting. Still need to add some replacement talent on the DL to take it up a notch or two from that game.
Even without CJ, Spags will be able to do all the crazy shit he loves to implement as long as you hold the primary pieces of that secondary again. Attack DL in the draft and with short term signings.
