"hey Shelby, here is Donald Cerrone's phone number. If your main event falls out and the rest of the card is weak, then call him. Thats all you need to know, I'm out"

GSP/Connor being rumored.

Apparently there isn't any kind of issue between Joe Silva and Dana or the UFC/new owners. His decision to leave is simple: he wants to retire. His job is insane, he puts in at least as many hours as Dana, and after the sale he got so much money as a senior executive in the UFC that he figured he could retire at a fairly young age. So, its all amicable, he's staying on as long as the UFC needs him to transition for a few months, then he'll go enjoy his retirement.
|
This isn't 100% done yet, but Helwani says that the UFC is working on a Cerrone vs Lawler fight for UFC 205 in New York.

I find myself really hoping the CM Punk hype train gets derailed Saturday and I have no legitimate reason why. I never saw him wrestle, no personal fan of Mickey Gall. I just really hope he gets beaten into submission. Tap to strikes would be the best possible outcome IMO
|
|
The bout agreement has been signed, Cowboy will fight Lawler at UFC 205!

His job would be badass. |

Well, this is a full, fun schedule especially if you have Fightpass
Tonight: 6pm - TitanFC 41 (MMA) 7:30pm - Glory 33 (Kickboxing) Saturday: All Day - College Football, if you care 3pm - Cage Warriors (MMA) 6pm - UFC 203 Fightpass Prelims, FS1 prelims at 7pm 9pm - UFC 203 PPV Sunday: 1am - Pancrase (MMA, with slightly different rules) noon - Chiefs 8pm - EBI 8, 16-man Middleweight Tournament (submission-only grappling) |
Quote:

Everyone made weight except for some random lightweight on the prelims. (probably not his fault, he's a last-minute replacement)

Apparently Overeem was late to the scale and fined $500 by the Ohio commission. He was nowhere near the heavyweight limit, he just flat-out failed to show up on time. |
lol, Michael Bisping's first title defense at home in the Manchester Arena reportedly sold out in 6 minutes. Capacity is 21,000
edit: one thing making this a bigger deal is that the main event will probably be close to 5am local time, to allow for the US PPV sale. Because of the terrible local time, they were thinking it might take longer to sell out. |

Lawler backed out because "he needs more time "

Just stumbled upon tonights freebie on FSN
2nd round, and it appears some girl in blue is fighting a rather brutish looking man in yellow |
Bitch Correia everyone!
|
I really, really hope Werdum doesn't get KOed by Travis Browne tonight. Also, can't wait to see Reem vs Stipe.
|
The jiu-jitsu brown belt strangles the white belt.
In other news, the sun set in the west tonight, and water is wet. |
LOL this card
|
If Werdum somehow loses this fight, I think he might be able to successfully protest the result.
|
Travis Browne went to the Andy Reid school of clock management
|

This crowd is ****ing reeruned
edit: I hope Miocic gets starched now, to hell with these Cleveland fans |
God, Werdum looks fat and slow. Nothing like the fight against Cain. Shit he's afraid to engage with a one armed man. Not impressed.
|
Quote:
|
they are booing Werdum and he's trying to say something that's important to him then they show a shot of Forest Griffin and that kid that thinks he can beat Cruz lol and the crowd pops
|
Nothing personal Miocic, but you gotta be sacrificed to the Reem now to atone for the sins of your hometown crowd.

I just realized that Overeem came out to the Pride theme. I was wondering why it was familiar.
|
Quote:
He gassed himself on the ground then danced around for two rounds with a guy who didn't throw a right hand for two rounds. He looked nothing like a guy ready for the next Title fight. |
well shit.
Oh well, Miocic definitely earned that win. No hate for him, Cleveland doesn't deserve him. |
The first four fights were not good at all. That main event upgraded this PPV from "shit" to "a bit below average"
|
When Overeem caught him the first time he should of just keep punching him instead of trying to choke him out.
|
Werdum front kicking Edmund was the greatest....what a whacky ass night even by UFC standards....
|
oh no, Overeem, you can't do that.
edit: nope, no ****ing tap. |
LOL this is a clownshow card with these post fight antics
|
LMAO Overeem
Way to look like a jackass in front of a million people. |
Welll..... it was entertaining, thats for sure.
We did not see a martial arts clinic at all, but it was kind of fun, and funny to watch that silly shit in the last 3 fights. |
If he would have been correct, it would have been huge, and he would have been considered the shadow champion, but you CAN NOT accuse your opponent of tapping out unless you are 100% ****ing sure of it. If you are wrong, you look like a douche, and the UFC could not let him go with saying that they had to go to the video in front of everyone.
|
If Overeem could take a punch, he'd be a devastating Heavy Weight.
|
Quote:
|
Its moments like that which make Rogan invaluable. His replacements probably would not have had the balls to ask for the video and demand that Overeem defend his accusation right then and there, in front of the world like that. They would have awkwardly concluded the interview and left Dana White fuming and ready to yell impotently at the media that he was wrong. Rogan did the UFC a huge favor there.

CM Punk has a great attitude in the post-fight presser. He said his original plan was to start out in a lower-level local MMA promotion and work on his skills from there until he was ready for the show, but the UFC presented him with an offer that he just could not refuse. If he gets cut, he'll keep going.
|
Listening to the press conference, wow. Mickey Gall is incredibly mature for his age, I'm more interested in what he can do.
|
For those with Fightpass, EBI 8 starts soon
|
Mighty Mouse will defend his belt against TBD on 12/3
|
Quote:
He's not a natural heavyweight. That's the problem. |
"Smile'n" Sam Alvey is quietly trying to be another Cowboy. He just signed up for his 4th fight in 5 months, in Manila next month.
|
Quote:
If he strikes first, he's got a good chance. But if a strike lands on him, there's a good chance he's done. |
I'm looking forward to the Poirer/Johnson fight this weekend. Both those guys bring it. On the other hand the Bisping/Hendo card is incredibly weak. I love Hendo but I won't buy that card just for that fight.
|
Quote:
There aren't big names (other than Belfort lol), but a lot of those guys put up good fights Depends on a fan's annual budget. For people who only pay for half the PPV's each year, yeah 204 is clearly a skip. I usually buy any PPV that I can sort of justify, and this barely gets there for me. |

The UFC found a new opponent for Cowboy. He'll fight Kelvin Gastelum at UFC 205.
That would have been a fine announcement if we hadn't already been teased with Cowboy vs Lawler. |
Tim Kennedy vs Rashad Evans UFC 205 Nov.12th @ NYC - Madison Square Garden.
@ 1hr 37min mark - signs his fight deal on the Alex Jones show. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/vkB_xWQzNd8" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> |

UFC Title History updated, with a new tab for the WME era.
Odd time right now, we only know when 2 of the 10 belts will be contested next, and for those 2 we only know the challenger for one of them. I assume the next few weeks will be full of news about UFC 205-207 |
Chael signed with Bellator
|
Boom, that only took a day. Tyron Woodley will fight Wonderboy in NYC.
|
Can't wait to see Wonderboy's hand raised.

Wow. Between today and Friday morning, Cyborg has to cut 24 pounds to make weight for the weekend.
|
In other MMA news, Legacy and RFA are merging, the new organization will be Legacy Fighting Alliance (LFA), targeting 30 shows per year on something called AXS TV, which I don't have on my cable subscription so why I'm even posting this I'm not sure.
