He's been gone for "personal reasons" for over a month, maybe two. I'm guessing at this point it is something mental health related.

What happened to him was ****ing bullshit and he really should still be pitching in the MLB BUT the dude is a massive cancer in the clubhouse. It's a large part of the reason orgs and teammates were so content to just throw him under the bus and ruin his career in the United States.

Not to mention he may not be the same player now that MLB is so strict checking for substances. IIRC He was one of the main reasons why that aspect of the game was put under the spotlight and eventually removed.

There's plenty of reasons outside of those sham legal issues that no one in the MLB is touching him. It just is what it is

Trevor Bauer. Jack Bauer. A bower from a Eucre game. Bowser the dog. Something. Someone. Get anyone to be in our bullpen and it has to be a improvement.

Who is Walter Pennington and why is both Rany and Joel Goldberg bringing him up on Twitter?

If I recall correctly, which is not necessarily to be assumed, he represents the best chance at someone in the organization currently who can offer bullpen help.

All i could find without looking everywhere.

Pennington hails from Broomfield, Colorado, about 30 minutes north of Denver, where the Royals play tonight. He attended the Colorado School of Mines and signed with the Royals as an undrafted free agent. This year, at the age of 26, he was enjoying his best pro season with a 2.35 ERA for Omaha with 76 strikeouts and 19 walks in 53 2⁄3 innings. His 12.75 strikeouts-per-nine-innings are third-most in the International League among pitchers with at least 50 innings pitched.

They should just DFA Hernandez. Classic AAAA player. You can't come in and walk the bases loaded in relief. That wins you a free bus ticket to Nebraska.

It appears his long term path to a major league career is being able to handle multiple positions well defensively, which has some value, because his bat doesn't look like it's going to play anywhere.

He's a terrible hitter in the sense that he hits too many ground balls and not enough barrels and hard contact in the air.

But he does have 16.3% contact rate. That's well above-average. He can put the bat on the ball in an era where pitching is dominant and only a handful of hitters are truly succeeding. At age 24, he's far from a lost cause.

Hernandez is a ****ing turd. The guy had a miracle run his first year and now he gets all kinds of rope when it's clear that he sucks shit.
