Somehow though, I feel like that corporation that sent the team to kill John Dutton needs to be dealt with. Which should be Beth's job. But those bastards need to be taken to the woodshed. Or the train station.

You're likely right, my take doesn't have any bloodshed

We need some of that for a satisfactory ending

If this show is going to end without Costner, I feel like we need an obligatory blood-letting as just payment for putting up with this shit, lol. Some mfrs needs to die gory and awful deaths, and I need Beth orchestrating it. Hopefully in a blood-red leather dress and black metal bustier. Maybe with a samurai sword in hand. Maybe get Uma Thurman to cameo?

If no bastards die terribly, you definitely owe me a beer, just saying.

Just a thought, but I could forego the bloodshed for some Kelly Reilly full frontal nudity

You and I really need to be consultants on a TV show. We obviously know a lot better than these fools how to write a good ending.

Easy 6 12-09-2024 06:02 PM

Just as an aside... has the show ever mentioned what tribe Rainwater represents?

If I recall correctly from my childhood around Great Falls MT, the three major tribes up there were Blackfoot, Crow, and Sioux

Don’t quote me, but I think they said they’re Crow? Or maybe I got that from 1923? Idk

UteChief 12-09-2024 08:20 PM

Did anyone notice the previews have been saying season finale and not series finale?

Rainwater is from the fictional Broken Rock tribe.

Never noticed the subtle word changes, but you're absolutely correct

Sheridan is just setting up his next series, gotta keep this cash hog fat and happy and rolling along

RunKC 12-10-2024 02:52 PM

The show has become a giant ad for Taylor Sheridan and his ****ing business. No story anymore

Taylor Sheridan IS his own business at this point.

I don't know that it really matters if his Vodka gets a few eyes on it...

This was part of the reason Costner left. Costner was a producer and objected to the costs Sheridan was saddling the show with. This includes the cost of shooting at the Yellowstone ranch and other expenses that were going directly in Sheridan’s pocket.

Tate's still a US Citizen. I presume Monica is as well. I'm not sure any of that would actually work.

But I'd imagine the tribe could take ownership of it pretty easily.

Seems possible but this is Taylor Sheridan we’re talking about here.

I’d bet that they run out of options bc of money and the 6666 ranch ends up cutting a deal with Beth and Kaycee to buy the ranch and/or keep it going with those two in charge. Then the spinoff will include this somehow.

Gotta keep the 6666’s in the picture so Sheridan can keep charging Paramount to film at his ****ing ranch

Mosbonian 12-11-2024 03:32 PM

I guess it is just me, but when the show becomes more about the producer and less about the sum of the characters in the show, I start to lose interest.

I do like his other shows, but this one is starting to border on being an afterthought on Sheridan's mind. JMHO...

I watch Tulsa King and Mayor of Kingstown. I won’t watch Landman. I’m tired of Sheridan. I’m not sure if I’ll continue watching the others either.

Demonpenz 12-12-2024 02:33 AM

So I was at pizza ranch today and I thought that a Yellowstone restaurant franchise would go over well

Red Dawg 12-15-2024 08:07 PM

This is ****ing stupid.

ChiefsCountry 12-15-2024 09:10 PM

Good ending for the show. Cleaned things up. Can go in multiple directions for a spinoffs if Sheridan wants to keep making money.

Red Dawg 12-15-2024 09:37 PM

Hated it. They have killed a ton of people and got away with it. Beth is every woman's dream life. Kill a man she hates, be drunk her whole life, talk and treat anyone however she wants, be a total slut and have the man she loves not care. It's reduculous. Jamie is never found and cops don't even ask a question. It's totally stupid.

Why did you even watch the show?? Just so you can have a bitch fest??? You are not a happy person..

Red Dawg 12-16-2024 10:41 AM

I am a very happy person. But I don't think shows should try and spin killers into the heroes. This show does that. The Duttons are shit and RIP is a mass murderer. John is a loser. He got himself killed and lost the land. 141 years and he lost it. Effing arrogant idiot.

DJ's left nut 12-16-2024 11:03 AM

I thought they landed the plane alright. They'd written themselves into a few corners here and there but by and large did about as well as could be expected in such a sprawling environment that can't really HAVE an ending.

Easy 6 12-17-2024 12:02 AM

I'm like 20 minutes from the end of this epic adventure, and Sheridan is closing with Lainey Wilson shaking her ass instead of something substantial

Can this ending get any worse?

Stay tuned!

DJ's left nut 12-17-2024 06:57 AM

Well if Lainey Wilson's ass is anything, I'd say it's 'substantial'

I couldn't believe what I was watching. Unbelievably bad, and who cares about that guy anyway? I had already forgotten he existed by the time the lame music video started.

Also, no manhunt for a missing attorney general? They just accept Beth's story at face value? That's some "ABC After School Special" bullshit.

DJ's left nut 12-17-2024 10:29 AM

I just wonder what show y'all have been watching.

If you took it this far and NOW is when you're unwilling to suspend disbelief, I just don't know what to tell ya.

Of course the show is about as realistic as Star Wars, but for most of the series the writing wasn't lazy.

I mean it was pretty lazy.

Can you imagine the national news cycle if there were just random gunfights on the streets of small town Montana, bombs going off all over the place and the amount of casual murder we've seen in this show?

This isn't any more/less wild than anything that this show has seen from the first episode forward. Reality has never been its strong suit.

RunKC 12-17-2024 12:48 PM

Don’t like that they didn’t conclude Lloyd’s character. Also bizarre that Teeter was assigned to a horse named “Man Killer” like a month after her boyfriend was killed by a horse.

The finale was fine. Not bad. Sure as hell not Breaking Bad finale amazing, but fine.

Felt like they kinda did, though.

I mean he essentially retired, no? I suspect he'll show up on occasion in the spin-off but I got the impression that he just saw this as the right time to hang 'em up.

It was either that or work for Rip. What the hell else is an old Cowboy who's just worked that single ranch his entire adult life going to do? He's not going to go down to Texas. He's not going to come on as an new hand in some ranch in Montana and start over.

And when the offer was there to work for Rip and he didn't want to do so, that made it pretty clear that he was just ready to retire.

I didn't think it was that ambiguous really.

Easy 6 12-17-2024 04:24 PM

Seems like the tribe could've given the Duttons more than just one house and a few acres of land after all they've been through together... thats just shitty writing IMO

Not sure I'm gonna be able to give a damn about the Beth/Rip spinoff after watching this show go out with a whimper

Sheridans arrogance is killing everything he does

Truthfully I think the point was that the Duttons didn't WANT more than that.

I mean they sold the place for $1.25 million, right? Had they asked for $10 million, hell $100 million, Rainwater probably says yes. I mean it's probably a $5+ BILLION dollar property.

Kaycee could've called his shot. He got what he asked for because that's all he wanted.

I mean anybody that's run a shop of any sort can tell you that sometimes you really just wanna downsize and take care of yourself and your family. You don't need to conquer the world - just set yourself up nicely for the next few decades.

Kaycee got that. His 'paltry' 5,000 or whatever acres will do him just fine.

The only thing that doesn't make a ton of sense to me is the idea that they simply had no estate tax protections in place to remove the bulk of the assets directly from under John. That's the FIRST thing they'd have done after his cancer stuff in season 2.

But it is what it is. Like I said, at a point you really do need to shut your brain off a bit with this show (and just about any show like it).

Yeah, Kaycee kept 5,000 acres and the house at East Camp:

Yep they can still run a downsized ranch on 5000

While I do not endorse every view here, the author clearly put some deep thought into this review

Red Dawg 12-18-2024 05:45 AM

It was stupid and had been stupid for a couple of years. Gangster ranchers is idiotic. The show had no good guys. Duttons are killers but they want you to believe they are the good guys after years of killing ranch hands to cover up other their other murders. Rip is a mass murderer with zero remorse. No investigation in the attorney general vanishing from the earth. A RIP and best spin off is a flop. Rip is a simp that married the town drunk, town slut and a total **** that treated everyone with hate.

Yes, in real life and history, that was the Crows land. In the series it’s a fictional tribe to avoid being sued.

Finally getting to watch the last episodes on Peacock. About a year ago they were saying Nov of 2024 so only about 6 months late. I wasn't about to pay extra to Prime/Paramount+ and knew it would available eventually. Only one episode left to go.

Love it so far, well done. Kelly Reilly lost some weight and is looking older.
