Here's my list so far. Clear and Present Danger Patriot Games 42 Cowboys and Aliens Paranoia Random Hearts Morning Glory Six Days Seven Nights Obviously I've seen Star Wars, Indy, Blade Runner, Sabrina, Air Force One. No desire to see the ones where Ford plays the computer guy (Firewall) or the cop. Those look shitty. |
Firewall wasn't bad.
|
I'm the opposite. I can't stand Harrison Ford fo some reason.
I think he is to acting what Steven Segal is to running. |
Didn't care for Six Days Seven Nights.
The Fugitive was very good. Hollywood Homicide wasn't terrible. |

My son is 15. He watched it 2 years ago. |
Yeah I've seen Fugitive and Witness. Good stuff.

as you mentioned, part of my not liking him is he seems a bit type-cast. so, maybe something out of the norm will change my mind

That 'The Fault is in our Stars' movie might be the best movie in the history of movies, and I would not watch it due to all the click bait it has littered social media with this week.
Holy ****ing Christ. |
Luv me sum Harrison Ford finger in every movie.

I actually really like John Green, but I wasn't crazy about this book. The whole concept seemed so... obvious... or something. It does have his usual witty, interesting characters, though. |
rachel mcadams screen test for the notebook is pretty damn amazing

Also, I watched Random Hearts with him and Kristin Scott Thomas the other night. Weak movie but he is so good in it. A lot of nuance in his performance. |
He even made Working Girl watchable.
|
Holy crap Maleficent was excellent. Must watch.
|
Finally saw Thor: The Dark World
Meh. Pretty sure Thor needs to be confined to Avengers films. Loki actually a lot more interesting as a potential lead. |

Maybe Lucas can remaster that too, and add in iphones and texting alerts, etc. |

It's not received very good reviews. Enter with caution. |

Seemed like an odd target demographic they're reaching for with this film. Dark and slightly scary for the normal little Disney tikes. |
Quote:
My understanding the biggest complaint is they completely ****ed up the story. Made the evil queen just misunderstood. Disney-fied one of the original Disney villains. |

Tell that to the fans of her story. I've got a friend who's a huge fan of the character, and he was furious about the movie. |

Watched "I, Frankenstein" last night. Holy **** was the acting atrocious but it was a decent rent for $1.
|
I've never seen There's Something About Mary.
Tonight that ends. |

I will say that visually, the Thor movies are ****ing spectacular. They're fun to look at. |

Critical response says otherwise. Don't get me wrong, I don't have a dog in this fight, I simply urged caution since it's received "mixed reviews" at best. I was telling what I've heard about it. And before anyone says "but it's got 75 percent from audiences on Rotten Tomatoes," keep in mind that actually good movies generally get good reviews from critics and audiences alike. Audiences that go to Maleficent are predisposed to liking it. |
Watched "End of Watch" the other night. I really enjoyed it, though I'm not sure what I thought about the weird narrative convention of having a lot of it shot through handheld cameras by actors. It didn't really make any sense the way they did it. Still the story was pretty decent and characters compelling.
Star Trek: Into Darkness was a lot of fun as well. |

Oh. And I think I fell in love with Anna Kendrick a little bit when her and Gyllenhall's characters were dueting on "Hey Ma" while driving in the car. Freaking sneaky cute.

I care not about the story, but if it's good I'd rent it. It's just hard for me to get wound up after Snow White. It's a tough niche. I was kind of "meh" after seeing Hansel and Gretel, but that's probably the best of this new type of movie (Stewart was THAT bad in Snow White). Interestingly, I read an article awhile back that this may be Jolie's last hurrah as a headliner. She's really losing her appeal and may not be able to carry a movie anymore. IIRC, the last thing she did well in was Mr. and Mrs. Smith, and the last thing she headlined at all was either Salt or Wanted, I can't remember, but either one did well. The article postulated that she may be washed up. |
I think Anna Kendrick might be the hottest woman in the world right now...

By the way, mock me all you want, but check out Pitch Perfect. I was joking about it and mentioned it to my brother and he said he was also a big fan of the movie.
I only recently found out that she started singing and doing Broadway from a really young age. |

Escape from Tomorrow is on Netflix.
Its the renegade Disney flick filmed guerilla style at Disney World. Weird ass flick, but I enjoyed it. Kinda creepy in parts. Posted via Mobile Device |

It's good in a similar vein as Easy A. Total high school semi chick flick that seems to go beyond those boundaries. It's worth checking out, for sure. My wife and I caught it on HBO and immediately bought the DVD. |
I have no idea how anyone can see Jolie as washed up.
She's only 39 fer crissakes. That's 29 in Hollywood. |

Edge of Tomorrow was really good. Not fantastic, but good, solid science fiction. I liked Oblivion better but it's all good.
Tonight I'm going to watch The Expendables I think. Never seen it. |

Really well made hard sci-fi though. |
I actually turned off The Bag Man the second I saw Cusack's sunglasses in the opening scene. WTF.
|
I'm watching the first x-men right now. I can't believe how bad the effects are. The first battle with Sabretooth is almost comical in the way he jumps through the air and such. They've come a loooong way with superhero CGI in the last decade.

I think the same time every time I see that one. That one is just laughably bad; it has not aged well at all. I can't tell what is more incredible though: how bad the effects were or how small Jackman was compared to now.. |
Just got done watching Jack Reacher. Been on a Tom Cruise kick after watching the Edge of Tomorrow. Cruise is always solid.
