And Thuney should only get a little stronger here as he continues to come back from the pec.

I'd rather give him a short extension than pay Trey top of the market money. Could you get Thuney to take a 2-year, $35M-ish deal and lower that 2025 cap hit a good bit? Would.

The reality is his mechanics have gotten out of whack at some point during every single season he's been a starter. He's admitted to it multiple times in one presser or another since 2019? So he knows all about it, knows how to fix it, it's just something that seems to happen every year. So I guess we have to just assume that he'll eventually fix it this year.

I don't know if he needs to do extra squats or whatever. Maybe.

I think he just thinks he can flick out where he wants with just his arm, because he's gotten away with it so many times over the years, since HS probably. But when those flicks aren't as accurate or don't have the trajectory or whatever they result in misses or INTs, especially when the defense plays tight, as BUF's did the other night.

I mean, credit where credit is due, the Bills defense executed very well most of the night, and they played very tight, sticky coverage in both man and zone, making the windows much smaller than whatever the NFL average is. Most likely anyway (haven't actually looked it up, just judging from the tape).

But when those windows are that small, the QB has to throw dots and dimes, or those passes will be defensed/intercepted. And it's just that much harder to throw dots/dimes when the QB consistently doesn't have his feet under him and he's throwing sidearm/three-quarter slot or otherwise off-angle slots.

My point is, Pat is making some of those throws harder than they have to be, imo.
