Uh, actually, the FG attempt is something every coach in the league would do there. You go up 2 scores and it's game over. No coach is risking 4th down there when you're in FG range.

Bullshit. Belichick knows that the 1st down wins the game. And last I checked, 8 points isn't "game over." They went 60 yards in less than a minute with no time outs, AND got the 2 pt conversion to go up 3.

1st down WINS.

Look, I'm not defending Reid. He made several moronic decisions today that have been hammered on relentlessly today, but the FG decision is last on the list for me.

They would've had to have gone 80 yards in like 45 seconds with no TOs for that to happen, because the run on 3rd would've taken 38 seconds off the clock, and the pass play on 4th another 3-5 seconds.

If they do that, they earned it.

Giving them a minute to go 60 yards was just giving it up.

You kick the FG and it's an 8 point lead. Mathematically, that's the right decision.

The TE screen or whatever I don't necessarily like, but I'm old school about that scenario; I'd have run it.

But throwing it there is a typical West Coast offense thing to do, and not only has Andy done it more than a few times, Gruden has done it successfully at least twice that I can remember this year. As have the Saints. As have a few other teams.

Holmgren did plenty of times. The Packers with Favre and Aaron . . . and so on. Pretty sure Bill and Brady have done it dozens of times over the years.
