New guy at work told me today that this CJ situation reeks of Justin Houston & Eric Berry’s last days in KC. And that CJ would be traded….I imagined myself punching him in the face, but instead, I told him how he was sorely misinformed. Then he told me that he was a Bronco fan. I should have punched him.

He wants Aaron Donald money?
If that's the case then have fun playing in Chicago in 2024 Chris. |

I was very optimistic a deal would get done.
As time as has gone, gun to my head prediction is he’s tag and traded next year. Veach’s MO is not paying aging players to top of the market deals. I have no doubt that a deal would have been done had the number even been 27. But a line has to be drawn when have Bolton, Smith, and Creed all eligible for new deals this coming off season |

CJ is getting very philosophical…

I feel that decisions have to be made when you have a talent heavy team. You simply can't pay everyone their market value as the salary cap won't allow it. If CJ's contract is going to reset the market, then sometimes you have to accept trading him to get as much value as possible. CJ is not as young as he was and it could be likely that his performance drops off after year year... just as it could be likely that he keeps performing at a high level. At his position, time is working against him versus for him, but you know that. |
