46-2 is literally just stupid. LMAO That's just a ridiculous stat

Well giving up less than 24pts on defense in only 48 games out of around 80 is a little disturbing in itself though.

The writing is on the wall. Even the slowest of us can see it coming unless Jones decides a different approach. Veach isn't going above whatever the number is thats his ceiling. They are obviously already there. Same scenario as played out with Hill.

Jones will be tagged. Permission granted to talk contract with other teams. Trade made for draft picks. 1st/3rd in 2024. 2nd round pick in 2025. Veach uses the draft capital to move up and get "his" new DT he's been scouting for 3 years.

Did we need to? Or did we, you know, just need to score more points than they did?

We could easily be sitting here bemoaning another season where we didn’t win a SB in the Mahomes window.

If you'd like to waste your time wringing your little hands over would've, could've. Should've, and what ifs, you go right ahead. Here's one that will really bake your noodle, sorry in advance.

If Ossai doesn't cheap shot Mahomes, we don't win the afccg.

You see how stupid this endeavor is?

I’m well ****ing aware how lucky we are, but get some perspective if you actually think we steamrolled the league last year and there weren’t the requisite moments of luck necessary to achieve that.

Chiefs played the toughest schedule in NFL HISTORY with a bunch of dudes Mahomes never played with before, and won the Superbowl.

We even lost one of those games BECAUSE OF CHRIS JONES and his inability to make the game sealing play, and walk off the field, where this "Great defensive leader that we cannot live without" did absolutely **** all to stop the legendary corpse of Matt Ryan from scoring the go ahead td after Chris gift wrapped 15 yards and a fresh set of downs to them.

Do you hear what I’m saying?

I dont give a shit about your hand wringing, and that the games against the toughest schedule in football were not blowouts.

There isn't a fan out there if asked before a game that would not be okay if they were told "Hey, your team is gonna be in a dogfight, and get a 1 point win."

Well, except maybe for you.

Blah blah blah. We have played numerous games with a ton of guys out. We can win without Jones.

wazu 08-11-2023 08:52 AM

So did Jones report today?

Hog's Gone Fishin 08-11-2023 08:56 AM

One thing to consider is that Chris will have a much better year if he's on the last year of his contract vrs the first year of a new contract. Resign him and get 7-8 sacks vrs 12-15 on the 1 year.

I think Veach uses this type of pressure to get the most out of players.

But other than that...........

BEARS.

You fail to understand the very, very simple concept of the message I am trying to get across to you:

We were not some unstoppable juggernaut that coasted through the season. We won a lot of close games. Hence, losing our best defensive player - even if we can cobble together a group of decent replacements and deploy the money and draft capital elsewhere - could easily be the difference between our not winning a SB the next time we're in a similar situation.

I am not complaining that we didn't dominate our opponents. I couldn't care less if we won by 100 or won by 1 as we ended up champions. Frankly, I'm grateful as a fan that we had the exact season we did because it made it a million times more satisfying.

I am merely stating that we didn't have unlimited amounts of error last year and very likely won't this year either.

But please, keep responding to me like I'm complaining about the team and the season. It's nice when you talk past what I am very clearly articulating because of some made-up agenda in your mind.

While all you say is true, it's looking like the defense THIS year just may be leaps and bounds better than anything we've put on the field since Pat arrived. Barring injuries we have one of the best LB trios in the NFL and the secondary is in year 2 of the scheme they've been taught.

While we are better with CJ than without I think Veachs next step in his plan is replacing CJ after this year. Betting he has his eye on a certain college player right now , plus a couple fA's coming up. He needs a better draft position than 32 so how does he get there

O.city 08-11-2023 09:23 AM

That’s all well and good but with no pass rush it’s a problem

smithandrew051 08-11-2023 09:24 AM

I’ve decided to root for the Chiefs regardless of what happens with C Jones (Chiefs starting DT)
