Here's a review of Spotted Dick:
Americans eat Spotted Dick August 05, 2006 Reviewer:Kelly Reinlasoder For a dessert item that sounds like a problem that would cause you to rush to the Doctor for treatment Spotted Dick was pretty good. We purchased the 10.7oz Heinz can and tried it one night while playing gin rummy. First it was suprising that it could be heated in the can (unopened) with a pan of boiling water. When we opened the can the aroma that wafted out was tantalizing. This "pudding" which is more like a cake was very tasty and had all the right ingredients. My wife would have preferred nuts over raisins but everything else was great. There was a taste of cinnamon, nutmeg and what seemed like pumpkin pie spices. The product came out of the can very easy and was enjoyed by all. We will definitly purchase this again and may even send some as gifts to family members over Christmas. Thank you |

Don’t know March 24, 2006
Reviewer:Susan Cromby I ordered the Heinz Spotted Dick in the tin, but I received the Aunty’s Spotted Dick. It probably doesn’t make any difference, but I would have liked to try the Heinz. The other Aunty’s product I ordered was good. |

Spotted Dick is a steamed suet pudding containing dried fruit, usually currants. The dessert is especially popular in the United Kingdom, usually served either with custard or with butter and brown sugar. Spotted refers to the currants (which resemble spots), and Dick is a corruption of the word dough.

LOL! That would be funny, but knowing my luck it would just draw the ire of the spelling police. |
