If the regular season mattered any more than slightly, this would mean a whole lot more. You can schedule tomato cans and win them all or schedule good teams and lose most of the them and still make it to the tournament if the team has a decent record and is from a BCS conference. If KU or MU flames out of the tournament early, no one will care what happened in November and December.
