Speaking as a Kentucky alum and a “cousin ****er”, that isn’t accurate. We care more about nattys and the tournament. Regular season means nothing. We have no rival aside from the little brother to the West.

We don’t hate KU. We dislike UNC, Tennessee, and Duke.

The fans on Rupp Rafters hate everyone, and KU’s pretty high on the list. Every time I glance at that board, there are multiple threads created just to spew vitriol at KU.

I have no reason to hate Kansas. We’re not in the same conference and are not geographic rivals or have had our hearts broken in the tournament like by UNC or Duke.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m arrogant as **** in terms of expectations and program prestige, but we genuinely really don’t have many rivals.

My dad is a Kansas alum and I could’ve gotten a shit ton of $ to go there, but didn’t. I chose the right school state school that begins with a K that’s located in a city that starts with an L. ;)

That board has maybe the most traffic of any sports forum in existence, yet every Kentucky fan I talk to disowns it or claims to never read it. Funny...

You may not personally have an issue with KU, but plenty of Kentucky fans do.

I also am not as passionate as I am for Kentucky basketball as I am football. The basketball fanbase is spoiled and (rightfully) delusional. Football's where the real fun is.

Rupp isn't fun to attend a game at unless it's versus a good team, though the renovations may improve the experience.
