I thought you had basic knowledge of the Chiefs cap and would provide evidence that I am mistaken. I severely over estimated you. Instead, all you have is "No they didnt you poop head."

Im dealing with a Mouth Breather.

Ehhhh......no.

The Chiefs started the season with $23.9M in cap room and $119M in cash spent against the cap. The mandated median for cash spending in the new CBA is...wait for it...

$119M.

IIRC the carryover is why we have such huge space.

And we were required to spend it this year.

So...........why no spend?

We did spend it.

Cap space is not the same as cash spent.

In other words, we've handed out a lot of front-loaded contracts, big bonuses, etc.

They get applied to the cap pro-rated over the life of the contract but they go on the books as cash spent.

If we give Cassel a $20M signing bonus on a 5-year deal, that entire $20M figures into the cash spent against cap mandate in the new CBA, aka it's part of the $119M.

However, it only counts $4M against the 2013 cap.

We spent over $120M this year while managing to stay $24M under the cap because we gave out bonuses instead of base salary.

I understand the structure of contracts. But I was under the impression that -40 under meant you had to be CAP = the next year.

THAT YEAR you had to hit cap...

As far as I know, there is nothing in the CBA that actually specifies a salary CAP floor.

There are provisions for cash spending, which the Chiefs are already meeting, that go into effect in 2013.

I lose argument ground here.

My Jew quit on me.

He's (Now a 40 year old) lawyer that read the old CBA and knew it inside and out. He was in my fantasy league for 2 years and I could call this guy at 2 am and he could just spit this $3it out. He'd even give me NFL confirmation numbers.

I guess we've grown apart.

"**** you ****. **** YOU! It's ****ing 11 pm and I have 4 daughters now! FOUR! This team sucks and I'm done! I'm out! Hell no I haven't read the new CBA! I'm a lobbyist now!
