They moved up 5 spots and you expect people to act like he trade multiple firsts that would really have set them back. But, they didn't and it hasn't. If Trevor hadn't wound up being a decent option, sure there would be a lot more fury. Maybe they got lucky with him being better than advertised prior to the draft.

Hell, Brock was a late 2nd rounder in 2012. They would have loved for him to have been the guy, but he chose to head off to Houston. Maybe that saved Elway from really looking bad.

So, in 5 drafts... they used a 1st, 2nd and 3rd on the QBotF and so far it's a 7th rounder holding down the position. You're right, there should be so much more outrage coming off a 9 win season.

Meanwhile, KC spent a 1st and a 3rd to move up 17 spots for PH... they'll wait a year and hope that in 2019, they don't look silly having spent so much to move up. I think it was a solid move to make, quite honestly.

Is that what holding down the position is? Winning the job by default because the first round pick is even worse? I guess that you could say that Bryan Hoyer is holding down the position for the 49ers too.

By the way. I agree with you that giving up a 3rd to move up for Pixton was no big deal. Elfraud would've just picked another bust in the 3rd too.

CP is so busy laughing at Paxton Lynch being named a backup that they're totally overlooking how great Siemian has looked this preseason.

There are plenty of QB's in the NFL that couldn't beat out Siemian.

"Beat out Semen"

Plenty of QBs couldn't beat out Semen, I heard. Maybe they should start lubing up. Or maybe they're just too old

And there are many, many more that could. And handily, my son.

KnowMo, I'm here to help.

What you need over at the ol' Incestco is some quality stability with a proven, winning record.
Yep, ol' Uncle Sweets has your best interests at heart, and he has a once-in-a-lifetime BARGAIN for you this offseason!
I have an absolute STEAL of a QB just waiting for you.
A REAL WINNER!
In fact, all this QB DOES is win!

And KnowMo, after this years' pitiful 6 to 8 win season in Donkeyland, your hero John Elway is going to need ALL THE WINNING HE CAN GET.

I encourage you to spend this season getting to know the many folks who were involved in the 'Save Our Chiefs'-movement. Introduce yourself and seek advice, get contacts, and take notes! I want you to get those Donkey banners flying high, and let Mr. Elway and that other guy who can't remember his own name anymore know that come 2018....

IT'S SHITTY SMITTY TIME FOR DONKEY BOYS AND GIRLS!

KnowMo, I promise you:

All you will do...

...is win.

:)

I don't know about NFL QBs, but I hear Clay can easily beat out Semen.

I think that is where you're twisted up... Trevor didn't play terrible in 2016. Trevor wasn't asked to limit his attempts to 20 a game while they ran wild and rested on the defense. Was he consistently spectacular and without issues? Certainly not.

Sure, they wanted their #1 pick to win the gig... it just didn't happen. Trevor played better, it's not like they both sucked and they flipped a coin. Lynch never had the job, never won it. Trevor won it last year and retained it.

Now, we'll see if he's going to prove his doubters wrong.

staylor26 08-22-2017 08:22 PM

The thing about Semen's stats is I watched the other team drop easy INT's repeatedly during the first half of the year or so. It was an anomaly. He could've easily finished with 18 TD's 15 INT's. He wasn't much different from Brock in his first year starting IMO.

Also, who gives a **** what he's done in the preseason? The entire local media was saying that both QB's were stinking it up in camp. He didn't take the job, he just sucked less.

I'm just not buying this former 7th rounder that wasn't even really good in college ever being anything more than he is, a fringe starter, and most likely a career backup long term. There's a reason everybody including you guys wanted Lynch to win the job. Stop pretending that this is a good thing and you really believe Semen could be the long term solution.

Yeah, there were a ton of dropped picks when Denver was pulling games out.

Pasta Little Brioni 08-22-2017 10:27 PM

TONS of Denver reporters and scouts were saying Semen looked awful. The moment Lynch gets benched you morons invent this narrative that he's played well.

 I always said he played well... brilliant? No. This isn't something I just started saying. And, there were definitely moments last year where he made bad decisions.

I've been pretty clear and consistent and now, we'll wait for the season to play out.

That's all you EVER say. WE'LL SEEEEEEEEEEE!!!
