Where did you get the Chocolate ale?

DeezNutz 02-01-2012 06:33 PM

Got a couple of bottles of the chocolate ale last year and enjoyed it. Just a different, very interesting, very drinkable beer.

I don't want to read the entire thread but has Old Chub been mentioned? I had some last week and was amazed. There is also an excellent Oatmeal Porter here in NC brewed by Highland breweries that's ****ing awesome!

****! it was in the damn opening post lmao

Probably going to try the Chocolate Ale tonight. Was able to get a bottle through a friend that works PT at a liquor store. We'll see..

[QUOTE=Phobia;8340014]Yeah. That's another NB offering I can tolerate. I actually try to avoid the 1554 though. Nobody likes me 4-6 hours later. I mean, like NOBODY.[/QUOTE

I agree, I've never been much of a NB fan.

probably right, but i'll probably go ipa anyways so at least I'm covered...

i've never been blown away by sierra nevada beers, not sure why as they seem to rate well...

I was. Their flagship product was amazing for the first 5-6 years of life. They've done something to it. I can't imagine it changed enough that I can't even finish a pint of it when I used to intentionally take layovers in Denver just so I could enjoy a couple pints between flights.

KCrockaholic 02-01-2012 08:31 PM

Chocolate Ale is at Old Chicago

I thought the Chocolate Ale was pretty damn good. If you're expecting to drink a candy bar, you won't like it.

I was arguing with my buddy on the way to darts tonight. He and a coworker ran to a bar to have one on their lunch break. He was expecting to have a really sweet beer like a desert beer. (Up until 4 years ago he hadn't ever tried beer) (no he's not 16) He didn't like it but told me I would love it.

Also, I think a lot of people ignore the fact that it's not a stout.
