I wanted Warriner but I'll support whomever they hire.

13 years is a long time brah

LMAO

Never mind the 13 years being completely arbitrary and extending it ONE more year squashes your dumb point.

That said, now I know how KU coaches rake in the three stars. "Hey, forget that we were 1-11 in 2012 and only slightly better since. As the recruiting/WR expert HC at KU, I'm inclined to tell you we've finished in the top 10 once in the last thirteen years."

Bambi 12-05-2014 01:51 PM

I'd be mad too if I was Nebraska. KU just beat them in a HC hire.

Oh the times we live in...

Seriously, this hire is ass. KU hired a WR coach/recruiting coordinator as their HC.

Seriously? Head coach trash talk?

You ****ing hired a coach that put up a ****ing worse record than the mother****er you just ****ing fired.

And you're coming in here with coach hiring trash talk?

ROFL

We have a shit program. We know it. At least we admit it.

I am so freaking glad you guys didn't get Warriner, he slid through the cracks again. I think he would have been a huge get for you guys.

Warinner is a good coach, but incredibly socially awkward. The kids around here for his first couple of stints thought he was a really weird/strange dude

Mr. Plow 12-05-2014 02:36 PM

I've said it before & I'll say it again.... I really want KU to have a solid FB program. I'm supportive of them & hope each hire turns it around. With that said, the state of the program has gotten me to a point where until it changes for the better, I'm just not going to be excited about anything.

Beaty is a beast in the DFW area. Not sure how he'll be as a head coach but worth a shot

This is an embarrassing hire from a PR standpoint. KU must have struck out not only on every Head Coach they were interested in, but every offensive and defensive coordinator as well. Beaty has been a wide receiver coach for the last NINE years. So, it's not like he's some amazing up and coming coaching talent. Maybe it'll work out, maybe he'll have that charisma to figure it out. But it doesn't sound too promising. Only good thing is the University will save a ton of money by giving him less than a milsky a year, and can cut ties with him virtually whenever they need to. I'm sure Radio and Fat Chuck have really strapped them for cash in the football department.

This guy didn't even have his own wikipedia page until today.

I don't like the hire because you hired him for recruiting. We hired Radio for recruiting. We hired Fat Chuck for recruiting. You aren't going to recruit if you are Kansas. Look at Synder, he doesn't even try to recruit, he knows he can't. K-State's recruiting classes barely even marginally better than KU's. You need a guy that has a gimmick, and can make 2 and 3 star guys shine, to get you to some wins. Get some momentum, a couple bowl appearances, then maybe we can talk about recruiting.

Just about any coach not named Tressel would have had a worse record than Bo. Only Saban won 9+ games the last 7 years. You guys should have gone for Bo.

The friends I had that played for him thought he was a dick, but in that football coach kind of way. They seemed to enjoy playing for him. And these guys played for him in the early years...prior to his successful bowl run.

In the later years, the team seemed fairly divided in how they felt. I don't think any of them loved him, but I don't think they hated him either.

Yeah, Warriner is super cut and dry, people either like him or they don't. He does not sugar coat things at all, if you are willing to do what he wants you will achieve things, but if you don't, he wont play you.

I know when he was at ND, he did not eat with the players or mingle with the players, he was all business all the time. It definitely hasn't hurt recruiting for us, because our last two classes have 10 very good O-Lineman in who say they love him. Also putting 3 lineman into the NFL as rookies this year and all of them starting doesn't hurt his reputation either.
