Injury?

Both teams were distraught. They knew how serious it was.

Even right to pile on

So you know when the directive was given?

He didn't go without oxygen for long. He's young and in elite physical condition receiving first class care with an entire country praying for him...that's what I'm hoping for.

This is just brutal. All of those players are going to be traumatized quite badly.

I'm reminded of some old military quote where a guy said that the first reports of any situation are always either overly optimistic or overly pessimistic, and as more information comes in, things tend to move toward the middle. I hope that's the case here.

I think there is.

You don't HAVE to have two weeks between the Super Bowl and the Pro Bowl. You could have one week and move the games back one week.

Eleazar 01-02-2023 09:27 PM

There don’t seem to be many great possibilities for the player’s health in the next 24 hours so I don’t know how you could play tomorrow. Those guys aren’t going to sleep much tonight. They aren’t going to want to play if he’s in bad shape.

Maybe they move the playoffs back a week, add this game in at the end?

I know that an impact hard enough on chest (from airbags or an NFL football collision) around the area of the heart is enough to stop it from beating....wondering if this is what happened

Fast moving thread - I'll repeat

Higgins especially. How the **** do you even process what just happened tonight?

I can’t see them forcing buffalo to forfeit

I'm old and worthless...

YTTV has been randomly jumping to the start of a show/game for around a month for me now. Not sure why but glad to see I’m not the only one.

You arent moving the entire season a week over this. That doesn’t even make sense.

Seems that there are a few options and they all have drawbacks:

Play tomorrow night. This would disrupt both Bills and Bengals preparation for last week’s games;

Postpone it till this coming weekend: they could do that but it would disrupt playoff schedule. They could just cut one week between the championship games and theSuper Bowl but it would be a giant logistical headache.

Cancel the game. I would be neither team would want that because of the first seed in playoffs.

call the game. I expect Buffalo would oppose this for obvious reasons.

I think suspending the game was the right thing to do but there’s no obvious answer. Least disruptive answer would be play the remainder tomorrow night but that has some costs.

NFL will surely be pushing for the 1st option. It is the most callous option but it's the only one that doesn't significantly impact the NFL's playoff schedule.

Right. I'm just saying there's no guarantee that anyone has an answer tomorrow or later this week.
