Sigh. I just switched to youtube tv and it was recording the game...I must have accidentally switched it back.

I'm old and worthless...

I wondered if that was the case intitially but commotio cordis is the most likely scenario seeing as he got up, then collapsed.

He's on a ventilator until they can determine his cardiac issues. There's nothing surprising there.

I think he was just going on the situation of him being intubated and being in critical condition.

He clearly doesn’t know for certain but hopefully dude beats the odds. This sucks.

They only play 16 games. It's not rocket science.

Seriously?!!’

He had CPR and AED! He wasn’t breathing on is own!

Injury?

Both teams were distraught. They knew how serious it was.

Even right to pile on

Not spontaneously breathing after cardiac arrest is typical. People don’t typically just wake up.

10 percent just seems low to me, but we don’t really know anything.

Something like that probably ends up happening. Unless they decide to push their entire playoff schedule back a week but I'm sure that is the last thing they'd ever want to do.

I would say they can cut out the extra week before the Superbowl. I've always hated that anyway.

frozenchief 01-02-2023 09:25 PM

Seems that there are a few options and they all have drawbacks:

Play tomorrow night. This would disrupt both Bills and Bengals preparation for last week’s games;

Postpone it till this coming weekend: they could do that but it would disrupt playoff schedule. They could just cut one week between the championship games and theSuper Bowl but it would be a giant logistical headache.

Cancel the game. I would be neither team would want that because of the first seed in playoffs.

call the game. I expect Buffalo would oppose this for obvious reasons.

I think suspending the game was the right thing to do but there’s no obvious answer. Least disruptive answer would be play the remainder tomorrow night but that has some costs.

if he dies.. I really have no idea how they would handle that

Buffalo forfeiting would cause a firestorm of controversy. You can't punish a team because this happened to one of their players. Not only is it grossly unfair but imagine the backlash it would cause.

Either replay the game or cancel it.

Cancelling the game significantly affects like 5 teams in the AFC playoffs (and hurts the Bills more than anyone). Just so hard for me to see it happening.

I saw Darrelle Revis was yelling at him on Twitter. Everyone has a checkmark now so it's hard to tell who's who.
