make my pick in a minute
|
The New England Patriots select Myles Hinton, OT, Michigan
|
Jerruh Juhnes arrives on the stage, surprising everyone. It’s the seventh round. Shouldn’t Jerruh be on his mega yacht, touching himself while reading through the 1993 Cowboys roster?
“Ah, had to do this mah self,” Jerruh drawls. “What the Cowboys are lacking is chahmpeeyunsheep dna. Let’s fix that and win a Supah Bohl!” The Dallas Cowboys select Shilo Sanders, S, Colorado. |
If William Perry was the Refrigerator, then this guy might be the Deep Freeze.
The Chicago Bears select Desmond Watson, DT, Florida. |
I assume I don’t need to PM Billay, right?
|
The Patriots' draft is complete, and they have a nice haul
1-004 OL Will Campbell, LSU 2-038 WR Jayden Higgins, Iowa St 3-069 ER Josaiah Stewart, Michigan 3-077 OL Anthony Belton, N.C. State 4-106 LB Danny Stutsman, Oklahoma 5-144 DL Cam Jackson, Florida 5-171 RB Trevor Etienne, Georgia 7-220 DB Dan Jackson, Georgia 7-238 OL Myles Hinton, Michigan My thoughts when taking these players was that Campbell will step in and start at LT, Higgins will start as the X WR, Stewart would be a rotational pass rusher, Belton would compete with Onwenu to start at RG, Stutsman would compete with Elliss to start at ILB next to Spillane, Jackson would get rotational snaps at NT with Tonga, Etienne would see 3rd down snaps and rotational work, Jackson would learn develop behind Peppers and be a special teams ace, and Hinton was a guy that should of went in the 5th that would develop at RT. |
The Houston Texans select Jay Higgins, LB, Iowa

Bears are also done.
1-10) Tyler Warren, TE, Penn State 2-39) Quinshon Judkins, RB, Ohio State 2-41) Wyatt Milum, OL, WVU 3-72) Jordan Burch, Edge, Oregon 5-148) Tez Johnson, WR, Oregon 7-233) Antwaun Powell-Ryland, Edge, Virginia Tech 7-240) Desmond Watson, DT, Florida Pretty happy with that. |

Do I wait? Or just pick?
|
I’m going to pick because I’m certain the Falcons aren’t considering this same player.
The Ravens have been assured that this guy won’t visit any local massage parlors. The Baltimore Ravens select Andres Borregales, Kicker, Miami. |
I know it's Easter and we're on pace to finish based on this very nice surge the past several days, but Boss all but confirmed he was okay with my last pick for the Falcons before I switched it back, and the guy is still on the board, so I'll go ahead and give them that for now.
The Falcons select Shaun Dolac, LB, Buffalo |
Ravens are all done.
1-27) Malaki Starks, S, Georgia 2-59) Azareye'h Thomas, CB, FSU 3-91) Tai Felton, WR, Maryland 4-129) David Walker, EDGE, Central Arkansas 4-136) Devin Neal, RB, Kansas 5-176) Hollin Pierce, OT, Rutgers 6-183) Kobe King, LB, Penn St. 6-203) Tommi Hill, CB, Nebraska 6-210) Nazir Stackhouse, DT, Georgia 6-212) Rylie Mills, DL, Notre Dame 7-243) Andres Borregales, Kicker, Miami Pretty good haul overall. |
We’ve two couch potato picks in the next 3. Mods gonna pick for him to keep it rolling?

Miami has four guys on our list and only one draft pick left. We're hoping that three of those four guys get picked, because we hate to destroy someone's dream by not drafting them.

I’d say give him until mid-morning or so then someone picks for him. We’re at the dart throws anyway. |
The Detroit Lions select C.J. Dippre, TE, Alabama
|
The Washington Commanders select Ricky White III, WR, UNLV
|
The New York Giants select Raheim Sanders, RB, South Carolina
|
We’re getting this done tonight, aren’t we?
|
Content now that they have added Hall of Fame DNA to the team (and prepared for the inevitable move of firing Brian Schottenheimer after the Cowboys fall to the worst record in the NFL, trade Dak Prescott, draft Arch Manning 1.1, and hire Deion Sanders as HC), the Dallas Cowboys select Jalen Marshall, Jr., CB, Florida.
|
The Cowboys are done. Here is their haul.
12) Dallas Cowboys - duncan_idaho - Matthew Golden, WR, Texas 44) Dallas Cowboys - duncan_idaho - Princely Umanmielen, DE, Ole Miss 76) Dallas Cowboys - duncan_idaho - Kaleb Johnson, RB, Iowa 149) Dallas Cowboys - duncan_idaho - Dylan Fairchild, G, Georgia 174) Dallas Cowboys - duncan_idaho - Caleb Ransaw, DB, Tulane 204) Dallas Cowboys - duncan_idaho - Kyle McCord, QB, Syracuse 211) Dallas Cowboys - duncan_idaho - Jackson Hawes, TE, Georgia Tech 217) Dallas Cowboys - duncan_idaho - Jake Majors, OL, Texas 239) Dallas Cowboys - duncan_idaho - Shilo Sanders, S, Colorado 247) Dallas Cowboys - duncan_idaho - Jalen Marshall, Jr. CB, Florida To me, I think the Cowboys are setting up for a teardown/tank, without admitting it. I can see a Dak Prescott trade, before training camp, where they eat a big part of his contract. With this draft, they add a speed threat complement to Lamb in Golden, add more speed and bend to their DE group, to work off Parson, add nice depth at the DB spots, and get an interior OL who I think will prove to be a very fine player and pass protector in Dylan Fairchild. It's all set up to be the worst team in the league this year, take Arch Manning 1st overall in the next draft, and hit set starting in 2026. I figure they trade Dak Prescott to a team despreate at the QB spot (the Pittsburgh Steelers seem like a good fit there, honestly, though I would be tempted to work with the Jets because they're a stupid organization) for some extra draft capital in 2026 as well. |
The Saints select Brandon Crenshaw-Dickson, T, Florida
|
Billay next, so not sure who I am DMing?
|
The San Francisco 49ers select Ahmed Hassanein, EDGE, Boise St.
|
Seriously. Somebody want to tell me how the blue **** a city of under 100,000 people is going to host the goddamn NFL draft?
TELL ME. I DEMAND TO KNOW. Anyway, with their last pick, the home team Green Bay Packers select Marcus Harris, CB, California |
Cackling in the War Room once again, looking extremely rested after their long break in the middle of day 3, we see a pleased Brett Veach talking on the phone. "I told you this guy would make it to us. He's your clone. Go announce the pick, I'll call it in."
He sets his iPhone down and looks at an extremely pleased Dave Merritt. "So, remember, don't tell them they're announcing a guy who probably is going to replace them next year." Merritt nods. At the NFL draft, where Green Bay fans are filling the Day 3 doldrums by chanting about what a stinker that Aaron Rodgers is, Jaylen Watson and Joshua Williams walk on to the stage. Watson is on his phone as he enters, and can be faintly heard saying, "Hold on real quick, LJ, I gotta announce this pick, then we can talk playing the market for a trade and contract!" Watson and Williams step to the podium. Watson: "You all know nobody works Day 3 DBs like our man Brett Veach..." Williams: "So why do you keep letting him do it, guys?" In unison: "The Kansas City Chiefs select Fentrell Cypress II, CB, Florida State. |
There’s a guy the Chiefs have met with that’s available that I really want Duncan to pick for us
|
Just checking - is John Marshall, Jr, at Pick 205 the same person as Jalen Marshall, Jr, at Pick 247?
I see a Jalen Marshall on my lists, but not a John Marshall. I'd assumed that maybe John was Jalen back when Pick 205 was made. |
The San Francisco 49er select Jalen Travis, OL, Iowa St.

Sensing chaos, the Dolphins rush to the podium to make their pick.
Making the Dolphins' selection is former cornerback Travis Daniels, who played a combined 100 games for the Chiefs (56 games) and Dolphins (44 games). https://images2.minutemediacdn.com/i...cc58ac654f.jpghttps://imgix.ranker.com/user_node_i...niels-photo-u2 (Travis appears to remain a Chiefs fan to this day, by the way. Cheers to Travis!) He reads from the card. "The Miami Dolphins select Nick Martin, LB, Oklahoma State." |

I really don’t care all that much. Do whatever is easiest for you. |
I'd lean toward giving the Cowboys a different pick. I'd noticed the John/Jalen thing when it happened, but didn't say anything because I just assumed it was a nickname or something. Plus, that was a full round ago.

It sounds like we should ban that Marshall guy from the league. He's a troublemaker.
|
The Cleveland Browns select Patrick Jenkins, DT, Tulane
|
We might need to ban that Bihlal Kone guy too, since he's now Picks 205 and 214. The guy is double-dipping.
|
be on in a minute
|
Please change pick #214 from Bilhal Kone to Jordan Hancock, CB, Ohio State, to fix that double-dip f'up.
With pick #256, the Los Angeles Chargers select Jo'quavious "Woody" Marks, RB, USC |
In the Chiefs' war room, Brett Veach stands, and cracks his neck side-to-side. "All right," Veach chortles. "Let's finish this out. Fire up that Terk Wharton replacement. I hate having to use a pick to do it rather than just signing him as a FA, but no sense in taking a chance."
"This one is a shout out to my boy RunKC. You might be dead wrong about my willingness to take a chance on Josh Simmons, but you're dead right about this one." Veach turns to look at the camera. "You ready? Here it comes!" On stage at the NFL draft, a horse gallops onto the stage. Wait, it's not a horse, it's Sarah Jessica Parker, conveying her husband, Matthew Broderick, to the stage. Broderick, resplendent in a red and yellow striped bathrobe, steps to the mic. "With the final pick in the 2025 NFL draft, the Kansas City Chiefs select Adin Huntington, DL, Tulane.." Broderick turns and prepares to again mount his trusty horse. Sensing something amiss, he turns back to the audience. "You're still here?" Broderick smirks. "It's over." A look of disbelief comes across his face. "Go home." He shakes his head as he turns, mounts his trusty steed, and exits stage left. |
Everyone take a bow. Splendid work.

Chargers Draft Haul:
1-022 DL Walter Nolen, Mississippi 2-055 ER JT Tuimoloau, Ohio St 3-086 WR Jack Bech, TCU 4-125 CB Nohl Williams, California 5-158 TE Mitchell Evans, Notre Dame 6-181 OL Miles Frazier, LSU 6-199 DL Yahya Black, Iowa 6-209 WR Chimere Dike, Florida 6-214 CB Jordan Hancock, Ohio State 7-256 RB Woody Marks, USC Thoughts on Chargers fits when making the selections: Nolen takes over at DE for Ogbonnia in their 3-4 front, with Ogbonnia becoming a rotational piece at both NT and DE. Tuimoloau is a bit of a big OLB, but I think he has the traits to fit there, and both he and Nolen could allow Harbaugh to return to running a 4-3 as he's favored in the past. Bech is an underrated possession receiver with some ability to get deep, so I think he would develop and take on the Mike Williams role. Nohl Williams would compete to start at CB. I did hope to get a CB earlier, but couldn't pass on other values. Evans is a Harbaugh-type of TE that can do some receiving and is a solid blocker. He'd have a shot to slot in as TE2 right away. Frazier was an insane value and would be depth and compete to start at LG if the Chargers move Zion Johnson to OC or trade him. Black is rotational depth at NT. Dike is another value pick for me that I think could make some noise as a rotational deep threat (and he's a lot more than that) right away. I conceded Kone since 3 other people wanted him haha, but Hancock can step in and compete at NB immediately. I took Marks because he is probably a 5th-round guy, and I couldn't let the value go. He can do a bit of everything well and be a 3rd down back that the Chargers lack. Another position I wanted to grab a bit earlier, and the cards just didn't fall right, but Marks is a hell of a get. |
Quote:
I am very glad you are not the Chargers GM. |
Quote:
Your pick stays. I will just give Hancock to Gloucester, because the entire point was to switch his Marshall pick because he got his first name wrong and Duncan made a good argument that he should get him. |
The Dolphins have completed their draft.
1-13 CB Jahdae Barron, Texas 2-48 G Grey Zabel, North Dakota State 3-98 S Andrew Mukuba, Texas 4-116 DT JJ Pegues, Mississippi 4-135 TE Jake Briningstool, Clemson 5-150 OT Ajani Cornelius, Oregon 5-155 QB Quinn Ewers, Texas 7-224 WR Elijhah Badger, Florida 7-231 Edge Kaimon Rucker, North Carolina 7-253 LB Nick Martin, Oklahoma State We took a little risk by not taking a guard in Round 1, which all of the mocks want. But our bet paid off when Zabel was still around in Round 2. Overall, we met our needs well, and we even got a QBOTF who'll get playing time during Tua's next concussion this year. |

Thanks for putting this together again staylor.
Much fun. |
Pretty darn good Chiefs draft, duncan. You didn't have the advantage of a Geno Smith to select in this draft like I did, but you did an admirable job considering the circumstances.
|
31) Kansas City Chiefs - duncan_idaho- Josh Conerly, OT, Oregon
63) Kansas City Chiefs - duncan_idaho - Shavon Revel, CB, East Carolina 66) Kansas City Chiefs - duncan_idaho - T.J. Sanders, DT, South Carolina 95) Kansas City Chiefs - duncan_idaho - Bhayshul Tuten, RB, Virginia Tech 133) Kansas City Chiefs - duncan_idaho - Kyle Williams, WR, Washington St. 226) Kansas City Chiefs - duncan_idaho - [B]Clay Webb, 251) Kansas City Chiefs - duncan_idaho - Fentrell Cypress II, CB, FSU 257) Kansas City Chiefs - duncan_idaho - Adin Huntington, DL, Tulane
Thanks, as always, to staylor for the work in keeping this going. It's nice, for once, to not be the "dad" in charge of something like this! Looking back, I'd be pretty pleased with this type of draft for the Chiefs. Success of the draft would be betting a LOT on the development of the first two picks over time. T.J. Sanders is my best bet here for immediate 2025 impact, though I think Tuten and Williams also can contribute year one, and Huntingon could, too. I really tried to stick to BPA. It's possible, I suppose, that Conerly forces the issue this season, maybe later in the year, and you slide Moore inside (or to a reserve role, or RT, or cut him after the season if Conerly proves capable/better at LT). I really like Revel as a long-term play. Without the ACL, that's a guy that goes in the top 40 IMO. Size, athleticism, speed... really seems like a perfect complement to McDuffie moving forward. |
I'd be really happy with that duncan.

Looking at it, Revel and Sanders seem extremely, extremely unlikely to be there at those spots. |

Cleveland Browns
2) Abdul Carter, DE, Penn St. 33) Omarion Hampton, RB, UNC 67) Jaylin Noel, WR, Iowa St. 94) Ozzy Trapilo, OT, Boston College 104) Jordan Phillips, DT, Maryland 179) Jackson Slater, G, Sacramento St. 192) Will Howard, QB, Ohio St. 200) Antwane Wells Jr, WR, Ole Miss 216) Carson Vinson, OT, Alabama A&M 255) Patrick Jenkins, DT, Tulane Doubt the Browns will keep 10 draft picks. This draft was all about setting up for rookie QB. Build the lines and running game. Pick up some Offensive weapons. Howard may turn into the guy but if not getting a backup in rd 6 is good enough. Washington Commanders 29) Nick Emmanwori, S, South Carolina 61) Jack Sawyer, EDGE, Ohio St. 128) Damien Martinez, RB, Miami 205) Jordan Hancock, CB, Ohio State 245) Ricky White III, WR, UNLV Commies didn't have as many picks. Secondary certainly needed help to compete with the high powered offenses in the NFC like the Packers, Lions, and Eagles. Add a couple weapons on offense and hope Daniels doesn't slump in his 2nd season. |
Thanks again staylor. I'll put my full drafts for Panthers and the Bucs up later
|
Not surprised Mykel Williams went higher (netting me +10), but the Cowboys taking Tyler Booker at #12 (+4) blew my mind. Thought Booker might slip to round 2 and tank my day 1 score.
|
Think Rain Man’s Kelvin Banks pick had the largest gain.
