Maybe the Giants' training staff ruined Toney. He didn't have many injuries in college. Only missed a handful of games in 4 years.

The KC training staff has a solid track record. Maybe he'll have better luck here even though it's off to a rocky start.

I wouldn't get my hopes up. If a player is injury prone there's usually not much a training staff can do. It is just who they are.

The only limit is his health. He could be great if he stayed healthy and stayed off Twitter

He has a very violent way of cutting. It makes him fun to watch but unless that changes I don’t think his injury risk changes. I don’t think anyone who watches him run is surprised at all he is injury prone

This is all true, his style is incredibly effective... and its also his worst enemy

Otter 09-23-2023 10:20 AM

Claynus endorsed him. He's like an old gypsy putting a curse on whoever he promotes.

Womble 09-24-2023 06:33 PM

Huge -1 yards today.

#1 WR

Wisconsin_Chief 09-24-2023 06:40 PM

He’ll end up making a few crucial big plays down the line but he’s nothing more than a Mecole Hardman replacement. He’s already been surpassed by Rice and Moore.

displacedinMN 09-24-2023 06:43 PM

not really a day for him. Need more MVS

That might be good enough. Especially if he even turns out to be as "good" as Hardman.

trndobrd 09-25-2023 08:37 PM

2 snaps yesterday. Another injury, or just playing it safe with an injury prone player in a lopsided game.

Pasta Little Brioni 09-25-2023 08:59 PM

He simply can not be counted on for anything

Drops?

BossChief 09-25-2023 09:32 PM

We don’t legit need him until November.

Rest up and get these other guys reps so everyone is ready to eat in the playoffs.

Agree and he is also very lanky and gangly, which adds to the injury exposure.

Probably just a break glass in case of emergency option. There was nothing even close to an emergency so he drank Gatorade on the bench.

The problem is he's NEVER available. I don't see how anyone can even attempt to try to spin this.

Pasta Little Brioni 09-26-2023 07:22 AM

I've moved onto Rashee as who should be the man in this WR group

O.city 09-26-2023 07:24 AM

Yeah, dude just can't stay healthy.

He's a great talent, but I don't think you can really rely on him at this point and anything you get is just a bonus.

Red Dawg 09-26-2023 07:51 AM

He's a broke dick. Waste of a roster spot. SB hero so always with love but he may as well be cut.

He’s on a $1.9m cap hit this year and just $2.5m next year. Cutting him right now would quite possibly be one of the dumbest things we could do.

Naw, he's worth keeping because he's on a rookie contract. And he will make plays for you "when healthy." Just gotta pick your spots...But a brokedick he is for sure.

This would be a case where you kill the messenger.

O.city 09-26-2023 08:38 AM

He's also our most talented player with the ball in his hands. Sometimes guys get past the injury stuff, sometimes they don't.

You don't make that decision until you have to.

FloridaMan88 09-26-2023 08:47 AM

Toney needs to play smarter to lessen his injury risk.

He doesn't need to do the multiple spin moves/trying to break through multiple tacklers on every play... especially early in the regular season.

Take the available yardage and preserve your health over a long season.

The next time you're right about anything will be the first time. He is by far the most talented receiver on the roster and he's on a rookie contract. You don't cut players like that.

Talented for sure. Does zero good if he can't play because of injury.

GloryDayz 09-26-2023 11:04 AM

Dude does seem a bit brittle.

FlaChief58 09-26-2023 02:07 PM

Yes, he's made of glass, but he's also dynamic when he does manage to get on the field, plus he's cheap. If he can't stay healthy when it's time for a new contract, we can thank him for the memories and move on.

Chiefshrink 09-26-2023 09:41 PM

He and Sammy are cousins:D
