Id sit him tonight regardless.

Clark Hunt sounded optimistic Kelce would play during his interview on Good Morning Football.

Clyde came back from the IR, didn't get activated for the SB. "Well we had better options..."

Thuney misses an extra game with the ankle injury "Well he can't take any chances with Mahomes..."

Jones warms up for a playoff game but doesn't play "Well that was the training staff..."

Tyreek Hill hurts his shoulder, returns to practice on October 2nd, doesn't play that week; returns on October 13th - "But he went to the hospital..."

I'm not going to go through the injury reports and feed them to you. It's stupid. You know what you know and by god that's all you need to know. You keep getting examples and you just qualify them or simply make declaratory statements.

No I just asked for good examples not involving hamstrings.

And hey since you know those guys were ready to play earlier than they eventually played (speaking of knowing what you know and don't need to know anything more) I guess there isn't anything left to discuss.

The only reason they don't slow roll Mahomes is because that changes the odds of winning, this team is 100% about the playoffs but they also don't wanna be the 6 seed.

The #Chiefs are elevating TE Matt Bushman from the practice squad for tonight's game against the #Lions, source said. Insurance in case Travis Kelce can’t go.

Per Ian

Wisconsin_Chief 09-07-2023 12:19 PM

He's playing, and he'll probably go off for like 133 yards and 2 TD while playing like 19 total snaps.

Because Chiefs.

I would settle for just catching the balls that hit him in the hands.

But yeah, he should be a favorable mismatch vs. their LBs.

Bushman was elevated to the 53 man roster. You would assume that means Kelce is a no-go.

Considering the Chiefs went with 4 TE's every game last year and PS elevation really shouldn't mean much.

Well sure. If you put him in for a few must have chunk plays, goal line plays.

Or put him in to keep an eye on MVS getting open deep.

If he only plays a handful of snaps, it will be curious to see the offense with and without him on the field.

DJ's left nut 09-07-2023 01:59 PM

Limit Kelce's reps and have Bushman absorb some contact on early downs and between the 20s...

Every game counts when you are chasing the number one seed.

It all depends on what the trainers say and how he is feeling.

Sure, a tougher game against the Lions isn't the end of the world, but even if there is a lot of depth/potential at WR, I'm not exactly expecting it to be a well oiled machine just yet.

They can grab 5 guys from the tailgate party and 15 and Big Red could probably still find a way to win. WBF

LagunaSWana 09-07-2023 02:14 PM

What is certain is that Kelce is doing everything he can to convince Reid that he can play. If there is any likelihood that Kelce could aggravate the injury by playing, then he needs to be held out against his own desire to play. If everything is intact and it's just a matter of managing and playing through the pain, then I could see him playing at least some limited snaps like third downs and red zone.

Kind of what I figured, I don't think they're keeping him off the field unless they put him in a cage.

Just make sure the refs tell these sleazy Lion players that any kneecap chomping on 87 will not be tolerated.

It's Week 1. Of a long season. Against an NFC team. In a game that likely won't matter in the playoff picture ultimately.

If ANY doubt or concern with his knee, SIT HIM!

He has 10 days to rest on the other side and get ready for Jacksonville. A team and game we need him in much more than this one.
