If I’m Veach, I have a deal in place to trade for Lockett and get a deal done with Robinson, as well.
|
If Jackson is getting 16.5 AAV, that’s impactful to the CB and DB market. Ward probably doesn’t get as much as we projected a day ago.

The same was true of the Chiefs before Mahomes, but at least we were coming off consecutive division titles. |

His deal is stupid good and an extension could be reached to lower his 2022 cap number from 10m to less than 5 while giving him some upfront money and adding a couple years to his deal. Collins is sn elite quality RT and if he’s released, he’s getting a lot more than 3/30m that he’s owed on his current deal. |

For the Chiefs to be able to drive the ball down the field, they need receivers that can catch the ball. I know, pretty simplistic.
He did not play that much but Josh Gordon did a terrible job of catching the balls that were thrown to him. He has to improve on that 35.7% catch rate and at least get it up in to the 60s range to have a hope of playing again. Travis Kelce has a 70.8% career catch rate. Tyreek Hill has a 67.7% career catch rate. Byron Pringle has a 72% career catch rate. Mecole Hardmanhas a 67.7% career catch rate. Demarcus Robinson has a career 63.9% catch rate. Marquez Valdes-Scantling can help with long drives, but he can also kill them. |
FWIW 610 just said the Chiefs are still working on Ward and want him back

Patriot corners are always souped up by Hoodie's scheme. Let them overpay for JC.

Hill/Robinson/Kelce would rape
|
Ward at $15 million a season. Do it, Veach.

They're going all in again.. and why wouldn't they? After Brady they're going to be a trashcan organization again. |
I don’t think Robinson is happening guys.
I wouldn’t get my hopes up. |

And they're still over the cap by $7 million currently. |

I still don’t see them winning a SB either way. I’d be willing to bet anything on that actually. |

I know this won’t be very popular, but I’m not sure Ward is the guy we need to spend 13-15m per year on. I think for that much, I’d rather roll with Fenton, Sneed and a rookie as our main CB contributors and use that money to bolster the offense.

You didn't see them winning in 2020 either, by the way. |

They aren’t nearly as stacked now with a 44 year old QB. They aren’t winning a SB dude. Do you want to bet? |

I didn’t see that. Thank you. |
And they also lost their other starting G.
And Fournette, RoJo, Suh, JPP, etc. are all free agents. There’s just no way around it. That team isn’t going to be what it was in 2020 and last year in the regular season. |
And you have to factor that both the Saints and Panthers are currently trying to work out deals for Deshaun Watson. If Dennis Allen can get that defense to play like it has....but have an actual QB running that offense? They'll probably win that division.
|
The only way Seattle trades Lockett / Metcalf is if they don't get Watson, and it sounds like they won't (Panthers or Saints).

Hilarious to watch all these AFC W teams pushing their chips in when one of the best poker players in the history of the game is sitting right across from them.
Will be fun watching Mahomes dismantle hopes and aspirations next season. |

So the Saints are gonna have to make a bunch of room to get Watson. I'd start poking around that defense.

Just taking a glance at their cap, they can open up a ton of space with a Godwin contract. They can extend Devin White, cut Brate, cut RN-R. |

Their defense is already worse than it’s been. When is the last time Brady won a SB without a great defense? He doesn’t have the weapons to overcome not having an elite defense, and make no mistake about it, that defense is no longer great. I’ll bet you whatever you want. $100? $500? $1,000. You name it. |

I'll consider a more realistic bet. You said "they aren't winning in the playoffs". Do you think they don't make it past the Wild Card? Divisional? |

I know it’s a dumb bet, because they aren’t winning a SB. |
