4 wasn't even very good. It had some moments here and there, but it was like watching an old baseball player try to hit - the hot streaks were less hot and shorter than they used to be, the cold streaks were longer and colder than they used to be.

Oh there'd still be the occasional 3/4 day with a homer, but the flashes of brilliance were only that - flashes. The true greatness is in the rearview.

And frankly, season 5 was watching Willie Mays stagger around the outfield with the Mets. You really just wish it didn't happen.

I watched maybe 2 episodes of the first half of season 5 and realized that nobody has changed a bit. Maybe Monica but that's it. And I'd have preferred she'd been murdered and left in the desert back in season 2.

Sheridan made the spinoff series too soon. it ruined Yellowstone, I stand by that.

They spent waaay too much time jacking around with some flashback to Texas, when all of the action was taking place in Montana... started off hot but yeah, all that Texas BS really took the steam out of it

So crazy, searched and searched on Paramount with only an option to buy season one, lol.

Ended up watching it live on CBS and had to stay up past my bed time.

So, we have it set to record, and there is nothing from last night. So we investigated (:)) and the first episode will record from Paramount Nov. 15th. :shrug:

They completely cut out the final conversation Beth had with John. She had just found out about all the killing via train station and had confronted Rip. No conclusion to the conversations. They went from Jimmy being a man and a learned cowboy to back to be called stupid and an idiot. Makes zero sense. The ranch hands are boring idiots that work for a ranch with no money. What happened to they don't make money story line? How do they pay for anything? The show is just getting worse. Don't cry for John, he was a killer like Rip and the ranch hands.

I really figured the pacing would pick up and it just hasn't.

Seems like they intend to leave a fair bit of this unresolved for the purposes of the rumored spin-off.

I mean whatever happens from a long-term perspective just CAN'T happen in a matter of days, weeks and probably even months. They can kill off a character or two (or 5) and not reach a real resolution as to the fate of the ranch, etc...

But they don't seem to be doing much to even move things in that direction. This mostly just seems to be a journey to see how things end for Jaime and they'll call that the conclusion of the story.

Maybe they're looking to create a Full House style sitcom with Rip, Beth, Carter, Tate, Monica and Kaycee. Lloyd as the crazy neighbor. Makes as much sense as anything they seem to be building towards at this point.

It is so stupid after all these years Kaycee suddenly can just call a Navy buddy and gets the low down on who killed his Dad? Where was this crap when they were attacked years ago? Being a SEAL doesn't give some forever unlimited knowledge to assassin's. Pretty sure it doesn't work that way.

Maybe I misunderstood, but Kaycee's 'Navy buddy' is a former SEAL that went into military contracting for some company. Which would give the guy some access to who's operating where. And the guys that killed John Dutton were pros, probably military contractors, right? The evidence that the coroner discovered showed that John was grabbed in a textbook pro fashion, or so I thought I remembered. That would narrow down the possible suspects, no?

They're gonna sell the ranch to the Indian tribe (Rainwater and Mo). Makes all the sense in the world especially with Kaycee spending time recently with Mo and they brought Rainwater back into the story (Chekov's Indian).

Maybe the tribe will have some sort of tax exempt status that keeps them from getting buried by property taxes?

But that just seems too simple at this point. The only real question I can see is whether or not Jaime dies. I kinda don't think he will. I just don't know how Beth can simply go kill the AG. And she's not on a straight up vendetta drive at this point - she does appear to be trying to have a life for herself and a quasi-family afterwards.

The whole idea that these ranches are inevitably doomed to extinction has just been overdone, though. I mean there are privately owned 500,000 acre ranches all over the country. This idea that they're just drawing dead is, frankly, kinda silly.

I have no idea how Indian Law works in the Yellowstone Universe, but a Tribe operates as a 'domestic sovereign nation' so he should be able to just give it to the tribe.

Tate's still a US Citizen. I presume Monica is as well. I'm not sure any of that would actually work.

But I'd imagine the tribe could take ownership of it pretty easily.

I'm hoping for the best, it'll likely be a two hour deal which gives some extra time to wrap it up decently

I predict (duh) the ranch goes to the native tribe, they've pretty much telegraphed it with previews of the finale showing the natives on horseback in warpaint... likely there to take over

A nice portion of the ranch will be set aside through a legal loophole, so the Duttons can keep up the cowboy way for future generations

Jamie isn't killed but ends up with a huge prison sentence, having to live with what he's done
