I'm reacting positively strictly as a fan. I understand the cap considerations don't look great, but I'm still excited as hell to see another big play receiver out there for Mahomes to work with.

Don't get me wrong, I like the signing but if SW is 'all that' why didn't McVay make it happen ? Was it durability? Money ? Not committed to the play book ? All the above ? Who knows but we will soon find out in due time.:hmmm:

Watching quite a few Rams games last season, Wadkins did some odd things. Either he was confused on his routes or got tired of being decoy. I saw at least two games where he quit on a routes when Goff had him alone and he let up not even knowing the ball was thrown his way. Not sure about his work ethic but maybe a short pre-season and McVay's vast play calling was too much for him to comprehend in one season.

gonefishin53 03-14-2018 01:33 AM

I would expect a lot of 3 WR offense with Conley and Watkins at WR and major matchup problems Hill and Kelce moving around a lot from slot positions to provide tells for Mahomes as to coverage. With the addition of Watkins at a cost of $16 million per year, it looks like Veach and Reid have decided a dominant offense and average defense is achievable to maintain the level of competitiveness. It doesn't hurt that it's a fan friendly decision as well. I'll feel a lot better about renewing my Sunday Ticket this year.

I once got into argument with a chiefs fan who told me Warfield was a top 5 CB in the league....

Holy shit your right mostly

go look at the 2003 roster most of those players on D never played a Down for another team.

Even guys who most fans didn't think were bad like Greg Wesley, never played after the Chiefs moved on.

No one should ever compare to that defense, that was just a total embarrassment of not understanding how to assemble talent.

Never forge the hype.

There was a ton of fans that thought Vonnie Holliday was gonna shore up the Line and make our defense a top 15 unit.

Not even close to comparable talents on those defenses.

There a bunch of NFL teams that would love to have the players on defense the Chiefs have right now. Sutton needs to do his job, and they will be just fine.

Both but Andy and most of CP will have Sutton as a scapegoat. No guarantee Berry is the same after the Achilles. Houston has lost a step and really hasnt been the player he was before the injuries and I doubt ever will be. Who is the nose and compliment at corner what about safety.

Sammy is such a risk yet we payed out the ass for a 24 yo kid that other teams keep giving up on.

Old man Bill Polian sure dogged on this move yesterday on NFL Live. Kept babbling about how Watkins can never play a full season.

Crazy how overblown that narrative has become. He didn’t even miss a game for injury in 2014 or 2017 and missed 3 in 2015.

So, if you played on that defense you either went to another team and won a Super Bowl, or never played another down again. 2 extremes.

He hasn't missed a season many games as some believe, but he's played often with nagging injuries that definitely hindered his production. That's probably where the narrative comes from.

Yeah but it also is not a good sign that he was behind both Woods and Kupp on the Rams. They all but tried to hand him the #1 Wr at the start of the year and he under performed.

Quite a few instances where Watkins was running open and Goff didn't see him or just flat out missed. He was 6/20 on throwing him accurate balls downfield.

Spend 5 minutes watching Goff fail at getting him the ball on wide open routes. His deep ball accuracy damn near rivaled Cassel's.

Seriously, ESPN has gotta get rid of Polian.

The league has passed that mother****er by in so many ways and he's too stubborn to change with it. He just said Watkins has never played a full season in the league. What in the ****?

Oh and he loves Jordy Nelson but hates Watkins, WTF..

Oh and he ripped Baker Mayfield for saying he's the best QB in the draft. Dude has views from like 35 years ago.

Agreed. Most of the defense looked bad because you had Alex Smith lead offense. A more aggressive offense and most of the defensive concerns are minor.

Gonna change everything. This move means more for the Chiefs than it would have for other teams.

Our OL is about to have the easiest job in the league if we have any luck with health.

Imagine if the 99 Rams had the best TE in the league to go with Bruce, Holt and Faulk.

If Andy Reid spreads the formations out enough, teams are going to have to decide whether or not they want to leave only 1 safety high with six in the box, or 2 safeties high with 5 in the box.

LMAO
