I'm not quite there yet, but I'm finishing up my third experimental cocktail of the evening and deciding where to go from here. Whatever I do, I will be "****ing hammered" presently.

I've cut WAY back on my alcohol intake. Tonight though? Let's ****ing do this thing! Closed out a very mediocre month, but still made 5 figures, so I'm celebrating!

It's the 20th? Got a head and chest cold so I'm taking it easy, hoping the 30 pack of Bush light I bought today will last through tomorrow.

I'm not hammer yet, but I like this thread, and I'm currently working on it with some Jesse James whiskey and Hercules Double IPA beer.

Our bonus falls 10 days before month's end. It's ****ing weird. But so is my "job".

As a fellow Turkey drinker you may or may not be interested in the experimental drink. I'll share what I'm working on (was working on, I've gone to straight Turkey and water now) and let you decide.

The concept I had was a seasonal autumnish drink. I was not the bartender so these were not made to my exact specs.

1st attempt

Equal parts Turkey and Crown Apple
2-3 dashes bitters
Cran
Lemon twist

The Crown Apple over powered here. Tasted like a Washington Apple shot, which I love, but is not what I was going for.

2nd attempt

Turkey
A little less Crown (she realized after the fact she grabbed the regular and not the apple)
Splash of amaretto
2-3 splashes bitters
Cran
Lemon twist

I really liked this. The bitters really came through in the aroma adding to the "spice" aspect I was looking for in the drink. But I also really wanted apple to be a part of the flavor profile. So...

Third attempt

Same as above but with Crown Apple instead of regular Crown. Lost a bit of the bitters but over all delicious. Could probably use a tax more tweaking (exact pours mostly), but I'm in the zone.

Just so happens I'm drinking some Apple whiskey tonight. Hmm...

heres my example (even tho its a beer concoction):

1 can of your favorite beer (can't be fruity, such as bud light lime)
4 or 5 Spanish olives.

coincidentally, this summer I was at Aldi's, and they had greek olives stuffed with feta cheese. THIS WAS PHENOMENAL for this recipe. go ahead and enjoy.

K-State game is on, so I'm back at the bar getting after it again. Started with a red beer and now on a Cap'n 'n Coke.

I used to do bourbons and Coke but now just prefer it straight.

Yeah, if I'm mixing Coke with my bourbon it's because it is a shitty bourbon. I used to be a bourbon and 7 guy myself, but pretty much feel the same way about that now as I do about the Coke.

Only real way to make a Margarita.

2 oz tequila Reposado
1 oz triple sec
juice from 1-2 fresh limes

That's it. A margarita shouldn't be sugary like the way we dumb Americans make them!

Authentic whiskey sour. Here's how to do it.

2 oz whiskey (rye whiskey preferred)
juice from 1 fresh lemon
1 oz simply syrup
1 egg white
Orange bitters optional

Shaker needed.

Sprinkle 1 heaping teaspoon of sugar or simple syrup over the ice in shaker (you can use more or less of this to taste, if you like things a little more sour start with one flat teaspoon and work from there).

Pour the lemon/whiskey mix over the ice.

Crack an egg and add just the egg white on top of the ice. If you’ve never done this before just “juggle” the yolk from one half of the shell to the other, letting the white slide out into the shaker.

Put just 2 drops (not dashes) of Orange bitters into the mix. You’re not trying to flavor the drink orange, this is just to help round out drink for a complete full-bodied flavor.

Put the lid on the shaker and shake the living **** out of your mix. You’ll want to shake harder and longer than you have ever shook any martini. The reason for this is to beat up the egg white, which will give the drink a perfect frothy meringue like head, and a distinct every-so-slippery texture.

Strain out the mix back into the glass, and enjoy.

PS. Since the mixture is frothy from all the shaking it can take a little while to strain the whole contents of the shaker into the glass. Just jiggle and be patient.

every once in awhile, i'll mix in some frozen watermelon.

Ya I'd get shitty bourbons to mix but would just drink too many would sour on Coke for awhile. Now I just drink them straight to enjoy the flavors.

If I'm at the bar where I'm drinking to have a good time I'll mix my bourbon with a little water. If I'm at home drinking for the pleasure of the drink I use a 2" ice cube and nothing else.
