Rams haven’t made offer to Jake Long, yet
Posted by Mike Florio on March 13, 2013, 2:54 PM EDT In our effort to keep you up to date on the latest news reported by others, there’s a chance we’ll pass along something reported by others that is not correct. Case in point: A source with knowledge of the situation tells PFT that there is no deal between the Rams and tackle Jake Long. That contradicts a report from the South Florida Sun-Sentinel that a deal is done. Per the source, an offer hasn’t even been made to Long. This doesn’t mean he won’t be signed. It only means he hasn’t been signed. Indeed, he hasn’t even received an offer. |
Saw on NFLNetwork, Donnie Avery to chiefs, need confirmation
ESPN says it too http://m.espn.go.com/nfl/story?story...53&src=desktop Chiefs to sign Donnie Avery ESPN.com news services | March 13, 2013 The Kansas City Chiefs gave new quarterback Alex Smith another weapon Wednesday, agreeing to a contract with receiver Donnie Avery, a source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter. |

Summary of what the Chiefs have done this offseason:
Backfield: marginal improvement replaced Matt Cassel and Brady Quinn with Alex Smith and Chase Daniel Receiving: marginal improvement retained Dwayne Bowe, brought in Donnie Avery & Anthony Fasano, released Steve Breaston & Kevin Boss Offensive line: worsened retained Albert for one more year, released Eric Winston Defensive line: no gain restructured Tyson Jackson, brought on Mike DeVito, let Glenn Dorsey walk Linebacking corps: no gain no movement Secondary: marginal improvement signed Dunta Robinson & Husain Abdullah Special teams: no gain retained Dustin Colquitt |
That's a good offseason, all things considered, for two reasons:
1. It had the potential to be disasterous, in losing Bowe and Albert and Colquitt and Dorsey. In reality we only lost one of those guys, and replaced him with the same caliber of player. 2. You don't build through free agency. You make tweaks. Only occasionally do you make an overpriced splash, and you make that splash when you're on the doorstep of competing, which we are not. |
That said, we need this to be a strong draft for the Chiefs.
right tackle inside linebacker linebacker depth across the board running back #2 corner |
The list is getting huge, now.

That should be a goddamn gimme. We're basically treading water with the moves that have been made. Keep the young talent that got us 21 wins in 4 years, and replace the guys we lost with carbon copy replacements. |

Lose one receiver, add another: Patriots reach agreement in principle on five-year deal with former Ram Danny Amendola, per league source. **** me. |
Haha 5 year deal for a guy with toothpicks for bones?...after passing on Welker for 6 million when they had an offer up for 10?
Haha |

T. Shields, Esq. @Shields3L
Pats give Danny 6.1 per year. .1 more than Welker. Damn, I love Belicheck. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH |
Quote:
I love Danny, but I don't see him playing throughout that whole contract healthy. |
5/30 for Danny Croyle?
Pass on Welker for 12 million? Hah |
10 million guaranteed.
Haaha |
Belichick did the same to Deion Branch when he left. He signed his replacement for .1 more just to strike a nerve.
|
Belicheat is a dumb ass. Amendola cant stay healthy. His ego is too big
|
wow that contract for a dude made of glass
that is by far the worst contract so far |

Rather than just finding a way to draft Tavon Austin, the Pats would rather do that?
Not a wise move. |
I try to be as optimistic as anyone can be. I also must remain honest. I, just like many, have been very disappointed with the direction of the beloved Chiefs. I will always hope they can win a SB before I die. I just keep being disappointed every time something happens with this franchise. I could hope AS comes in and is a productive QB and be OK with that. But 2 days into FA & our best deal, IMO, is the signing of an OK TE. I know there are holes to fill, lots of them but man, none of these FA's get me all excited. I see the cap room shrinking and no real, make you jump up out of my chair, players have been signed. As someone posted earlier, I see lateral moves with some minor improvements.
The draft, well I will keep my hopes up for something great to happen but I will also be prepared to be let down again. |

You deserve to have a baseball thrown square at your balls like Valdespan if you think Drew Stanton is better than Alex Smith.
These Jaguar assholes need to go back to their 5 man message boards. |
Nick Jacobs @Jacobs71
Andy Reid told the media after the Smith presser "We have another defensive guy here in the building that we are courting." Anyone? |

Really trying to get an answer if it's Sean Smith.

LB Philip Wheeler tells Miami media other suitors were Oakland and Kansas City . . . hey, at least he's out of the division . . .
Look's like we going after a LB |
Quote:
Once they get him up to speed with the system, he'll be a slight upgrade over welker. |
Good, we need another one or two.
|
I'm wondering why we never hear about Brad Jones. He fits a need and Dorsey knows him.
|
Dan Connor - LB - Free Agent
Free agent LB Dan Connor will visit the Raiders. Connor was scheduled to visit the Steelers on Wednesday, but he never actually went. The Raiders really could use three new starting linebackers, so Oakland would be one of Connor's better options for playing time. |

We not in on a CB?

Michael Gehlken @UTgehlken
Derek Cox scheduled to visit Chargers on Friday. Ex-Jaguars cornerback will first visit with Saints on Thursday. |
Ya I'm going to hop on the Jones train to. If we don't sign a Corner that keeps the option of Milliner open lol
|
It has to be Sean Smith visiting tonight.
Nobody knows where he is visiting tonight not even his agent will say. Dorsey has done things quietly so far. You think we would of heard something already but nothing.Hmm!! |

I kinda wish we would have waited around to see if Finley gets dropped
|
hey Phillip Wheeler we really like you but we're trying to give you one of these crappy veteran deals like we paid all these other turds
-Yea Ill just go get overpaid in Miami thanks dodged a bullet there! |
