Hey now, don't be making sense here, this is CP! It is a wicked, nefarious and malicious strategy to ruin everything we hold dear in life!

Why would someone think it might actually help put the higher insurance premiums on the higher risk drivers? ROFL

I can't remember the exact quote, but it's something like "If a product is given to you free, then you're the product."

The insurance is the product and I pay for that. This kind of like the free napkins you get at Portillos. :p

CP never disappoints, it has been an interesting discussion and I am glad I am not in the business of trying sell people on these programs.

I actually remember when cell phone use in the car while driving was a pretty serious violation and now it seems to have evolved to acceptance.

So you are ok with people on their phones while driving? If so, quit driving and stick to the weekly football schedule posting. You are part of the problem.

Monitoring of your driving from your phone by the insurance company is hardly using your phone while driving.

Sorry, I didn't mean to confuse you.

One of the things they are monitoring is distractions, in other words, if you are using your phone while driving. They consider that distracted driving, not good.

Per earlier in the thread, I am pretty sure I mentioned the five items they are monitoring are:
High Speed
Acceleration
Hard breaking
Distracted driving
Time of day

Voluntarily putting their device in your vehicle or on your phone seems like the appropriate response to really show them

Well sir, when they hit me with the huge auto policy increase, I switched companies as per earlier in this thread. They had no loss on my vehicles, they are all inside when not being driven. I do have empathy for them however as they had to pay back to back years on the storm damage.

The new company is the one with the kickass app, the old one sucked ass and you had to log in each time you were going to drive. I never qualified for their promised discount.

If you get hit with a huge renewal it’s because they want you to switch as will the new company eventually

Except when that "tiny dot" is directly tied to you...and AI creates a digital profile of your life that will never go away.

In the future, law enforcement will be able to access said profile instantly....full psychological report...habits, internet history, purchase history.

Why do you think these telecommunication companies are giving away i-phone 16 for essentially free...because they have a new AI assistant..sold under the idea of a "life co-pilot"...but is literally documenting everything aspect of your life. They say they need this amount of information so your "co-pilot" can be personalized/tailored to the specific person. Next level surveillance...actually, total surveillance.

If a deal is too good to be true...it isnt.

Those adds of people, alone, talking to their digital "assistant" like its a person is disturbing on every level...it's anti-human.

If that is the case I can't really blame them, but their agent worked like hell trying to keep us. We had major storm damage two Julys in a row, 2024 was a tornado with hail. Roof, siding, windows etc. etc. But it had nothing to do with our autos, they are separate policies.

I have found that changing companies every four to five years is necessary anyway as they have a tendency to gradually increase rates once they think you are comfortable and not paying attention.

Ten years ago our homeowners was just over a grand, now it is four times that +.
