Trey got owned by Ed Oliver. The Chiefs will likely see the Bills again. I get everyone is focused on LT but they could scheme around it if their incredibly expensive IOL could actually hold up.

Not much to add here, pretty much everything that needs to be said has been said.

A couple things I'll say is, 1) Pat needs to be more accurate across the board, not just one the deep shots. He's just not been consistently as accurate as he could be or as he needs to be, even on the shorter passes. And a lot of that is his footwork/throwing mechanics. He almost missed that short out-route to DHop because he threw that ball with no platform. Then that throw to DHop on the go-route was not well-placed and it was short, and most of that was the fact that he has no platform, and he throws that ball kind of 3/4 slot, instead of over the shoulder. And there was no reason for him to throw it the way he did.

And 2), he needs to trust his receivers more and throw with anticipation. That first INT doesn't happen if he trusts Gray to be where he's supposed to be and just throws when he hits his back foot. Baker would've thrown that ball on time.

If the cleans up just those two things, he'll look a lot better. Doesn't solve everything, but it'll probably help move the chains and probably his confidence. Ymmv.

Random thought/observation - does Pat maybe spend too much time in the offseason doing his workout program with Bobby Stroupe when he should be spending more time with a QB coach working on his mechanics? Maybe I’m way off, just a thought.

Hollywood and Pop fix this. Just gotta patiently wait for us to get healthy.

A prayer circle around Watson on D might be good, too.

Losing to Buffalo isn’t what bothers me.

Getting outgained by 100+ yards and having our line get fist****ed is the concerning thing

Boxer_Chief 11-20-2024 01:10 PM

Petro said Smith is our lowest graded lineman on pff except for Kingsley. He did get abused Sunday.

That tends to happen when you spend the majority of the season without your WR1, WR2 and RB1.

Anyone want to imagine what the Bengals offense would look like without Chase, Higgins and Brown all year? Or the Ravens without Henry, Flowers and Bateman? Lions without Amon-Ra, Jamo and Gibbs or Montgomery? Bills without Shakir, Cook and Coleman?

That’s what we’ve been dealing with and we’ve still got a top 10 offense by most metrics.

ThaVirus 11-20-2024 01:13 PM

The only offenses I can think of off the top of my head ravaged by injury as badly as ours is the Rams and 49ers. Both of those teams are struggling to maintain .500.

That's a stupid tweet anyway. Hardman and Watson are plenty fast, and Xavier changes everything.

RunKC 11-20-2024 01:56 PM

Trey gets a lot more love than expected. I like him but Thuney is a much better player

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">PFF says Joe Thuney is having his best season ever: &quot;Thuney has yet to allow a sack or a quarterback hit this season and has allowed pressure on just 1.7% of pass plays — the best rate of his career.&quot;</p>&mdash; Matt Conner (@MattConnerAA) <a href="https://twitter.com/MattConnerAA/status/1859312059839619130?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">November 20, 2024</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

Exactly. We have plenty of speed on the roster.

You might be on to something. A lot of his throws have looked like soft lobs. I know Rodgers lost some accuracy and blamed it on not doing good old fashioned leg work. He had his back to back MVP seasons when he got back to heavy squats and upped his core work.

Sure.

But personally, I'm more concerned about points than yards.

Setting that aside, at what point do we begin to look at some of those games as outliers and not the norm.

How many other 400+ yard games for Chiefs offense this season, outside of those two? I don't think any.

And I think it's pretty well established at this point that both the Saints and Bucs defense are pretty bad.

So, yes, ultimately comes down to execution, but we're 10 games into the season now and getting a lot more of one than the other.

We fix the LT position, even with someone mediocre, and that is another 7-10 ppg added. I say we move Thuney to LT, he has to be able to play it infinitely better than Wanya and Kingsley, and then let Wanya play LG.

We are in the midst of a three-peat attempt and the AFC competition is fierce, and the NFC Lions is fierce as well, we cannot be dicking around with the LT position right now, we need to get someone at LT that is at least somewhat competent.
