That’s the equivalent of whacking a made guy.

You have to have a sit down and you better get an ok or you're the one who gets whacked.

I'm sure it's been said earlier, but three Super Bowl wins has healed a lot of pain. And let's be honest here - that '95 team wasn't winning a championship with Steve ****ing Bono at the helm. People seem to forget that there was a reason we needed to rely on field goals that day.

The only one I'll never get over is '97. No amount of winning will ever fill that hole in my soul.

Nobody was beating that Cowboys team, the whole league was playing for second place that season.

the 97 playoff game was particularly hard

I'm trying to remember, but wasn't that when they put Elvis Grbac back in for the last game vs the Saints and then the playoff loss was to Denver? After Rich Gannon had the offense moving pretty efficiently while Grbac was hurt and Marty was being questioned about the decision because Gannon looked better and Marty said "I'm not letting a player lose his job to an injury"

That's how I remember it

It was also the cooking spray game. Plus Gonzalez caught what should have been the winning touchdown but he was incorrectly ruled out of bounds. And of course that touchdown was only necessary because a phantom hold on a successful field goal moved it back ten yards, and then on the longer retry it was missed. If not for that, a late field goal would have won it. It was just an absolute unholy witches brew of bullshit that denied us that day. And that was the best, most complete team we ever fielded between Dawson and Mahomes. Still makes me sick just thinking about it. That one will never go away.

IIRC it came out later than Carl had basically forced Marty's hand about starting that rusty ass shitbag Grbac. I will go to my grave believing that had Gannon gotten the start that day we would have overcome everything else.

ya I remember that Tony Gonzalez catch now and they called it out of bounds. Pretty sure I was livid. We'd have 100% won if they went with Gannon, doesn't surprise me that Carl forced Marty to start Grbac because he's the one getting paid the most.

And in Dallas, before the POS Kicker, who shall remain nameless, arrived in KC.

Years later, Ray Crockett even said that he pushed Tony out of bounds. Said he was very surprised no flag was thrown.

It was definitely a force out and a TD. No way Gonzalez doesn't land both feet in bounds otherwise. I just watched the replay. The ref was standing right there. Plus the Broncos got to start at midfield on their go-ahead drive because of a personal foul on Danan Hughes on the kickoff. And it sure did not look like much was there.

If I recall, we lost a close game at Dallas that year, and wasn’t a comment made by a Dallas player that the chiefs were the best team they faced that year?

Moral victories and all

I love how CP reopens old wounds and pours salt in them from time to time. LMAO

That's why I respect Marty. He could have been CUNEXTTUESDAY and floated innuendo and cried about how he got railroaded but he kept the turmoil and circuis to a minumum. Contrast that with Mike Shannahan. That snake would wither away and die if he had to swallow his pride and not float leaks or stab members of his organization in the back. And he got his in the end when he got to be Dan Snyders employee. All that cheating and bullshit to win with horseface and it all came crashing down when he signed up to be Snyders bitch. Ruined his career and his reputation. Marty told Snyder to go to hell and came out of that organization with his integrity intact.

They weren't beating the Cowboys in 1995 but it would have been awesome to make the SB at least. Great for Chiefs fans.

The 1997 Chiefs probably weren't winning the SB on a neutral field against Green Bay, but that would have been a fine outcome also.

At that moment in time, Gannon was the far better scrambler and improvisational guy. Grbac was a better pocket passer. My opinion is that neither would have won a Super Bowl.
