...wait we are making comparisons that make no sense right?

His comparison made sense.

Steak is a luxury food, and it would make sense that folks on welfare ought to be buying eggs and bread and such to fill their cupboard rather than wasting a fixed resource(money) on a luxury item. A steak on the grill is illogical when you have no other food in the cupboard.

Much like a change of down back/slot WR/returner is a luxury, but not a necessity in some folks' eyes when we have plenty of other bare spots on our roster.

Now, imagine if WE drafted the guy at 36. How stupid would Pioli be for picking him there over a playmaker that was taken by "a team that knows how to draft" in Philly?

These guys are trying to say that would have been a better pick than DMC?

They would be here defending that pick?

HA HA

Eh, I wanted Golden Tate at that spot, or Benn if he would have fallen...so I won't complain too much about DMC. I was all like WTF when I saw the pick because I thought he was just a RB and didn't know he'd played wideout and apparently has pretty good hands and route-running abilities.

BossChief 05-03-2010 07:41 PM

I didnt either Pablo, my initial reaction was that I hated the pick. Even comparing it to the Kris Wilson pick because I had no idea he could play receiver and how his skills translate there. I thought it was us taking a 170 pound running back when we already had Charles and Jones, my thinking was it was a wasted pick. Same as us taking Kris Wilson when we already had Tony G.

But after comparing sizes and times of him and Welker and other guys that are lethal out of the slot, he starts looking like he could be a weapon, and a damn good one.

Im excited to see him on the field making plays for us.

What I don't like in this thread is BossChief accusing dozens of posters, myself included, of complete dishonesty. Twice in this thread he's made the claim that "We ALL know" that there would have been tons of bitching had the Chiefs done exactly what those posters are posting that they would rather have seen. The implication is that we're lying when we post our opinions and that we're only posting to bitch about anything that the organization does, that we have no philosophy of how we'd want to see the franchise move forward, that we're just trolls here on ChiefsPlanet.

Its mother****ing insulting. Disagree with me all you want to but please do not imply that I'm lying when I give a football take. I can guarantee that I, counter to BossChief's claims, would not be bitching that the Chiefs didn't take DMC.

I guess I just have way more respect for BossChief than he has for me. i don't know.

Very similar to want happened after the SD game in 2008, he was so disgusted he decided to clean house.

Yeah let's just all whine about it and hope that makes it feel better... Come on man let's at least see what happens

Koa Misi
Height: 6-2⅝ | Weight: 251 | 40-Time: 4.73
Koa Misi | Utah Utes

Strengths:
Outstanding motor and gives excellent effort --- Very athletic --- Quick and agile with great balance --- Super explosive with a burst --- Terrific strength --- Uses his hands well --- Comfortable in space --- Appears to have fluid hips --- A hard worker --- Versatile --- Still has a lot of upside.

Weaknesses:
Just average size --- Questionable instincts --- Has trouble getting off blocks --- Not a great run defender --- Inconsistent --- Minor durability concerns --- Mediocre sack production --- May not have a true position.

Notes:
Full name is Nawa'akoa Lisiate Foti Analeseanoa Misi --- A three-year starter for the Utes --- Named 1st Team All-MWC in 2009 after earning 2nd Team honors the year before --- Transfer from Santa Rosa Junior College, where he spent one season --- Father, Sione, played football for Hawaii --- A bit of a 'tweener who could project to either defensive end in a 4-3 or outside linebacker in a 3-4 at the next level --- Saw action at both end and tackle in college and was also used standing up at times --- Missed some time with a back injury in 2009 --- Didn't rack up eye-popping statistics or necessarily make a lot of game-changing plays but is a very intriguing prospect due to his impressive physical tools --- Classic Workout Warrior who will likely be selected earlier than he should be by some team that becomes infatuated with his potential.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Seriously, I can't believe that some people are advocating the Chiefs picked THIS guy, especially over two game-changing playmakers.

Hey, Cassel isn't going to get better he's as "developed" he's goimg to get. Pioli, wants to go down with the ship concerning Cassel the guy had a chance to have a QB coached and hand piced by our current OC. A smart man would've taken said QB, because if Cassel gets seriously injured or just fails as starting QB the team will have a QB that eveyone is comfortable with. Just Watch by game mid-season Cassel will be yanked out games, because of his inability to anticipate routes, poor to average accuracy, average field vision, and has nbo concept of making quick decisions.

I'm with you. The interest in taking Koa Misi at the top of the second is very, very strange.

WTF, really?

You are one of the guys I like on this site and one of the first I sent a friends request to because I generally agree with most of your takes, but man this should have been a draft you supported IMO by your reasoning in the past and leading up to the draft. It does appear that your hatred for Pioli clouds your reasoning and objectivity concerning your reaction to this draft.

hahahahaha

You do know that Koa Misis best year (he played 4 years) he had like 5 sacks right?

Im just assuming you know that.

For all the "you can get ilbs in the later rounds" before the draft WE ALL KNOW how a pick of Daryl Washington would have gone over.

Id take DMC over any of the guys you listed at #36.

flame away

Jeremy Maclin is a full time player. Dexter McCluster is a scat back/WR project.

Maclin was also a much more productive player than McCluster ever was, and he fit a legitimate need at a starting position in a shallow draft.

McCluster may fit a need at a complementary position in a deep draft where value abounded at our pick.

There's no "WTF" involved, it's rationalization.

And I don't give a shit what you think of me, so don't post that stupid ****ing tripe.

My apologies, That was not the intent.

This is just conversation. I never meant for anything to be taken as insulting at all just trying to point out what I felt were inconsistencies.

Maclin would have been third overall, I would hope he would be a tad better than a guy picked at the top of the second round.

Are you gonna say that you would have preferred Troup, Misi, Washington or another guy there over a guy that can score everytime he touches the ball?
