Right but if Veach views left guard as a huge need, he'll get more value in the 2nd than in the 4th for that position, whereas there will likely be at least one safety and one cornerback in the third (in which they have two selections) that won't be much different than a guy in the 2nd.

Keep in mind, with as many as 5 QB's going before the Chiefs pick in the 2nd, there will be some Blue Chip talent in the 2nd and the 3rd rounds.

Sure they do. The Chiefs can give him a huge guarantee with serious upfront cash and a low salary for 2018, like they did with Eric Berry last year.
