I've caught a few games late in the season, but yeah, mostly 'cuz it's a WC game. Team hasn't been relevant in quite some time now.

Is Ned taking Hootie's advice and possibly using Ventura mid innings to bridge the gap between Herrera, Davis and Holland?????

Yes. A wild card team still advances. How does having a smaller or larger series change that?

tk13 09-30-2014 07:48 PM

Let's go do it James.

If Shields falters, it looks like it

Great Expectations 09-30-2014 07:48 PM

At least Nori made him throw a few pitches.

Ned and Hootie might be the same person.

tk13 09-30-2014 07:48 PM

I agree with Ripken. Ventura is getting ready to come in if Shields gets in trouble. Actually looks like Ned's not screwing around.

it's a great idea because I don't trust anyone else in the 6th to get some K's if the A's have some on base if you are planning Herrera, Davis and Holland for other innings.

You are only guaranteed a 5 game series if you win your division. It also doesn't allow teams to coast after securing the wildcard if somebody is running away with the division. 3 game wildcard series would throw all the division winners rotations away as well. This one game Wild Card is one of baseball's best additions.

Yup, need more of this.

tk13 09-30-2014 07:50 PM

The other thing is Ventura needs more lead time to warm up, most likely. He can also be used in the 7th if Herrera has trouble.
