It doesn’t have to be only Sneed as the answer though.

I’m sure a second round CB would’ve been a better contributor than Kingsley, right?

Or not pinning your hopes on Kelvin Joseph. I have no idea why they thought that one would work. Dallas sucks at many things, developing CBs is not one of them.

Jesus

Major injuries are always going to be impactful. No team has the depth to handle top line injuries. Yeah they could have drafted a CB in the 2nd but we had absolutely nothing at LT. NOTHING. Yeah it sucks that Kingsley has been awful but there is no way they are not drafting an OT early

Yes. I'm well aware they traded him. I just think it was an avoidable mistake that has had the cumulative effect of making our defense significantly worse by forcing McDuffie out on the boundary instead of in the slot where he excelled.

Again, acting like an 18 million AAV contract wasn't attainable is absolute bupkis. Danna is getting 8 million AAV and Tranquill is getting a bit over 6 million AAV. That's just over 14 million going to two guys that have been largely replacement level players this season instead of an elite CB that Spagnuolo has said multiple times was one of the key contributors that made the defense as stout as it was.

But he's literally not been able to play this year due to injury. You think he'd have played thru it here, where I would question if he would have once he was paid like he's doing now?

Well, until he's sent to a bottom tier team with no hopes for a playoff push. Then he's sitting out over a month with a quad bruise/strain.

Or once he got paid?

Yes? He did it his entire career here. Ankle, knee, calf. Showed up on the injury report and played through all of those. Again, not a coincidence he shut it down when the Titans got so far out of the playoff picture there was no feasible path to get into the mix.

Bl00dyBizkitz 11-21-2024 02:17 PM

LOL as if we didn't plenty other things to bitch about.

O.city 11-21-2024 02:23 PM

I'm not against keeping Sneed around, I get both sides of it.

But they actually had played it pretty well, then Watson broke his leg and the defense has a direct correlation to getting worse from there out.

Sassy Squatch 11-21-2024 02:25 PM

There have been some pretty marked flaws in this defense all season. TEs and the slot were exploitable even before Watson went down.

Willie Gay is missed.

Also with his ability to spy Lamar Jackson and Josh Allen.

RunKC 11-21-2024 02:52 PM

May have had flaws but they were manageable. The defense has struggled massively since Watson got hurt.

Huge loss

Yeah, wish they would have kept him strictly for those reasons.

Yep. Its not rocket science. At some point, the injuries catch up. This is that point.

Which is why the path to a Super Bowl win last year is not realistically replicable this year.

Can’t expect the defense to keep the Chiefs in playoff games if the offense goes 16 consecutive possessions without a TD.

Wrong.

Defense actually better this year. Pass rush hasn't been as productive but we're good.

And our offense this year is MUCH better. And getting better every week with Pahceco and Hollywood on the horizon...
