The Bills need to forfeit. Rescheduling the game means CIN starts with the ball up 7-3. They'd probably lose anyway.

They had a much better read on the situation than anybody in the NFL front office at that point given what they saw on the field and knew it wasn't appropriate.

Her take is that 9 minutes of CPR doesn’t necessarily mean anything regarding brain damage as it just means they needed to continue getting blood flowing to brain until he regained consciousness. Good CPR for nine minutes when done quickly enough from beginning can lead to full recovery.

Says intubation occurred in ambulance and since they waited for the family he was likely critical but stable and either in and out of consciousness or conscious. Couldn’t imagine they would wait to go to the hospital if he remained unconscious, even for family.

Says going to ICU and being intubated means you are automatically listed in critical condition and is not an indication necessarily of severity. Says they will have to run tests for potential brain damage.

Exactly this.

This is so sickening. I give a lot of kudos to ESPN for how they're handling this considering there's absolutely zero script.

Please God heal that young man.

This shit could be over for you in one damn play

Well to be fair it’s also why they make millions to play a game unlike first responders, military etc….I get the risk they play with but the reward is also large.

Life can be over for anyone and everyone given the wrong moment in time and it happens every single day.

Hug your family and loved ones when you can.

No, it would be an advantage for the Chiefs, assuming both teams win their last game.

14-3 Chiefs > 13-3 Bills

Why? They were already playing the Chiefs on a different day than those teams next weekend.

I thought both Buffalo and the Chiefs are playing on Saturday?

Not sure if you’re referring to me but I’m not outraged at all by any of the decisions that were made tonight.

My comment was made with the clear benefit of hindsight.

Man before Mahomes came along I was about to give up on football because like, I really don't like the idea of someone dying or suffering a life changing injury for my entertainment. I understand it's a violent sport but every time a player gets carried off the field in an ambulance I question why I watch this shit.

Really hope Hamlin is okay

Agreed 100% with all of this. Good post.

Well yeah that is protocol. Then they probably learned the injury was more severe than well almost every injury ever.

Stop piling on until we know the facts. Knee jerk reactions are not helpful. Calculated decisions while gathering facts is what is important.
