No reason to get worried about it.....Bell to the Chiefs isn’t happening.
|
The cap is going to skyrocket in 2 years anyhow, but if you don't buy into the teams ability to find cheap guys that can play then shut it down, you won't win if you have the highest paid guy in football and can't draft.

Part of me wants the Chiefs to do it just so DJ will have to explain to his wife how and why he managed to shit all over his khakis. |
Yea Terez you’re right!! The Chiefs like Darwin so much that he’s maybe seen the field 1 snap per game
|
I’m not sure we have the O-Line for Bell. He likes to sit patient behind the line and hit the hole. Our Rb’s are getting hit behind the LOS.

And the draft isn't for quick fixes anyway; it's for long-term results. You're not drafting more than 1 or MAYBE 2 players that make a significant impact next season. You absolutely have to have some flexibility to work in FA and/or the 'underperforming young veterans' market and find guys to fill immediate needs. For instance, CB is a massive problem next season and will take an investment in picks or cap - more likely BOTH. We don't just need 1, we'll need 3. Everyone's on 1 year deals right now and they're all 'make-good' deals where they expect to get paid next season. You're not gonna do that with draft picks. Not replace 3 substantial contributors. So you're gonna have to pay at least 1 vet a pretty decent chunk and draft another guy pretty high. Well now how do you fix the obvious LB problem if you've burned your top pick on the CB? Oh, and your interior OL STILL sucks and you have no money to go aquire someone to protect your young hotness. You absolutely cannot just hand-waive the cap next year. The Chiefs will need at LEAST $35 million in available cap prior to FA, drafts and a potential Mahomes extension. They have work to do to get there without Jones and Bell - it'll be impossible with them. |

Yep that is why I am not concerned at all about the cap. New CBA probably very soon and new TV deals right after that. Plus during the off season they will probably find a new streaming partner and dump DirecTV. The cap is gone up over $10 million every year as well. |

Similar to the Osweiler deal. |
Trade a third and a player for Bell

Two years in a row they've wanted to be buyers at the deadline but it isn't working out.
Hey fellas, maybe do your work in the offseason at obvious spots instead? |
