Pioli firing leaves just minor details before Reid is officially hired as KC's coach. Reports say Green Bay's John Dorsey could be his GM.

Andy Reid will have a host of options to pick from with his staff. Many expect Shurmur (OC), Castillo (OL), Childress perhaps as QB coach

If Andy Reid does, as expected, become an NFL head coach again this year, he will again hire Juan Castillo as an assistant.
Settle down, Chiefs fans: Reid wants Castillo to be his offensive line coach, not his defensive coordinator.
Reid is widely regarded as the frontrunner to become the next head coach of the Kansas City Chiefs, possibly as soon as today, and CSN’s Derrick Gunn reports that Castillo has an offer from Reid to be the offensive line coach whenever Reid becomes a head coach.
Although Reid fired Castillo as defensive coordinator during the 2012 season, it makes perfect sense that they’d reunite: Castillo was a well-regarded offensive line coach before Reid made the foolish decision to move him to the other side of the ball, and Castillo and Reid have spoken warmly about each other as friends even after Reid fired Castillo. Just because Castillo failed as a defensive coordinator doesn’t mean he’s not a good offensive line coach.
And so Castillo may soon be an offensive line coach again in Kansas City.

Juan Castillo is a good line coach.

Told this morning that Dorsey is the guy Reid wants and Dorsey wants to be here. Chiefs asked for permission to talk to him yesterday.

Couldn't officially talk to him until Pioli was out though.

Scott is walking away with his final year of the original deal as well as the 2 years Clark added on earlier this off-season.

In total, Pioli cost Hunt roughly 50 million for Cassel, 30 million for his services, 6.5 million for Haley and another 6 million for RAC. Close to 100 million dollars. All of this for 23 wins.

Many here advocated firing Pioli up front to replace with Dorsey.

To get Reid first and STILL get Dorsey? That's pretty sick.

I heard some analysis on Reid that one of his weak spots is personnel evaluation in the draft...especially on defense. Bringing someone in with scouting background and a history of landing excellent talent through the draft is a major coup.

Matt Flynn

None of those draft picks were the no brainer, Andrew Luck type picks.
