Pioli firing leaves just minor details before Reid is officially hired as KC's coach. Reports say Green Bay's John Dorsey could be his GM. |
Jason La Canfora @JasonLaCanfora
Andy Reid will have a host of options to pick from with his staff. Many expect Shurmur (OC), Castillo (OL), Childress perhaps as QB coach Expand |

John Dorsey and his family love GB but I'm told his wife has strong ties to KC area. She even works for a firm based there. Retweeted by Josh Vernier Expand |

Chiefs also insist move with Scott Pioli doesn't mean that Andy Reid is being hired today. Attorneys still working on details. |

Pioli was hired on Jan. 6, 2009. Almost made it 4 years. |
Salisbury is on 810 essentially begging Andy Reid for a job.

Reid and Dorsey have a very strong relationship. Reid has sought his opinion on several players for yrs, according to multiple sources. |
Sean Jensen @seankjensen
Packers college director John Dorsey should have been a GM years ago but has been patient. That said, seems destined to be K.C. GM |

He was just making it VERY clear how much he really likes Andy Reid as a coach. He was practically giddy. I think we all should be. |

Told this morning that Dorsey is the guy Reid wants and Dorsey wants to be here. Chiefs asked for permission to talk to him yesterday.
Couldn't officially talk to him until Pioli was out though. Scott is walking away with his final year of the original deal as well as the 2 years Clark added on earlier this off-season. In total, Pioli cost Hunt roughly 50 million for Cassel, 30 million for his services, 6.5 million for Haley and another 6 million for RAC. Close to 100 million dollars. All of this for 23 wins. |

#Chiefs offseason still off to impressive start. Need re-sign Albert/Bowe. Cut SP misses Cassel/Ty Jackson. Confident it'll b quick rebuild. |
Dorsey is a best case scenario.
He's presided over one of the best college scouting departments in all of football. |

Chiefs fans will be happy to know that Scott Pioli is out. Long-time GB personnel man John Dorsey appears headed to KC to work for Andy Reid |
If it's between Dorsey and Gamble, which is what we are being told, I'm estatic.

Looks like Heckert is going to the Jets as well.

Many here advocated firing Pioli up front to replace with Dorsey.
To get Reid first and STILL get Dorsey? That's pretty sick. I heard some analysis on Reid that one of his weak spots is personnel evaluation in the draft...especially on defense. Bringing someone in with scouting background and a history of landing excellent talent through the draft is a major coup. |

It's looking like #Chiefs will announce Reid signing later today and this won't drag on into weekend. |

Also looking like Green Bay's John Dorsey will be GM and not Tom Heckert, who once worked with Reid in Philly |

He's always injured, apparently wants to play in a dome and appears to be somewhat of a head case (even more so than Bowe). |
Gotta admit, I like the HC picking the GM who he best thinks can get guys for his system. All hands working together? I think i will.

Jennings would be a better fit in Detroit. No pressure to be the man and would rape with Megatron on the other side.
