Larry Scott threw in the towel!! Game over Pac 10...........thanks for taking Colorado.

Thank you thank you Nebraska!!! You all got the **** out and now the Big 12 is the #1 RPI Conference and more money for everyone!!

Man what a great day this has been compared to where we were last week!!

SO NU enjoy your long ass plane rides (no more driving to watch a game) and for a final time.......go **** yourselves!! Never have to speak or hear from you again. Well in football one more time and two gimmie basketball wins for our local schools. Oh almost forgot about the penalty that you WILL have to pay............Mr. ****face Chancellor!! Enjoy your new academic "stature."

hoax. Utah likely goes to the PAC-10. Honestly, with this big windfall promise from the still-unnamed TV network, it doesn't make sense to expand unless the new schools can bring in at least $15-20MM in value per year.

Well that was a wild ride ending up in a whole lot of more of the same. This is a massive letdown and an embarrassment nationally but I'll get over it a lot faster in the Big 12 than in the MWC. Bottom line if Texas didn't move MU couldn't, now I just hope they try to get 2 more teams and keep the championship game.

My Winners and Losers

Winners- Nebraska, Colorado, K-State, Iowa St, Baylor, Big East

Losers- Missouri, Texas A&M, Big-10, Pac-10, Big 12

Potential losers(if Big 12 expands)-Boise St and the Mountain West Conference

'Hamas' Jenkins 06-14-2010 05:13 PM

Invite TCU and see if you can get Arkansas to switch, given that they'll get far more TV revenue from a new contract.

USC will be back in national title contention in 2012.

Alabama was given essentially the same penalty and they won it all last year.

Contrary to what most people in the Midwest believe or know, the guys that chose USC do it for one reason only: It's the best path to the NFL. The overwhelming majority of players at USC are interested in getting to the NFL.

USC is a young team. When they're eligible for post season play, their starting QB will be a senior.

We disagree then, those scholarships are going to be hard to replace plus Lane Kiffin is not the best college coach there is for putting kids in the pros.

Time will tell ...... 2012 is a pipe dream Dane. It could easily take 5 years to rebuild with Lane Kiffin.

You obviously have no understanding of USC's football program. Besides having arguably the best coaching staff in the country, they have a rep for putting guys in the NFL.

Furthermore, there *is* no rebuild necessary. They just completed the season with a Freshman QB. They had an amazing recruiting haul. And contrary to all of the whining about Lane Kiffin, it appears that you missed the part where he was right about the Raiders (and especially, JaMarcus Russell) and he completed a pretty good first season for Tennessee.

Two years is nothing for a school like USC. Guys will be still be lining up to attend.

RustShack 06-14-2010 06:07 PM

Their recruits probably know chances are they wont start their freshman or sophomore years anyways.. and some will be redshirted anyways.. The only way they hurt is if a whole bunch of their juniors and seniors walk away now. Even then they are right back in two years. Three max.

Titty Meat 06-14-2010 06:07 PM

Plus wouldn't the sanctions hurt USC years down the road? None of the recruits for the past few years are leaving and those years USC had one of the best recruiting classes in the country.

Heard the QB interviewed and asked if he was staying at SC. He said "I came to USC to play football and get an education at a very good school. If that means we play 13 games in a year instead of 14 them I'm going to give everything I have to win 13 games".
I do think the loss of scholarships will have an impact but not anything SC can't come back from.
One thing: USC had better keep their shit straight, if they commit more violations the NCAA will put the hammer down on them.

My question is to Iowa State fans. How do you guys pick up any wins in basketball or football now that Nebraska and Colorado are gone? You guys somehow managed to luck your way into Nebraska turning the ball over eight times last year, and surely you can't beat anybody else. Ouch.

Are you kidding? Iowa States football team is a lot better this year than it was last year. They also should have won the Kansas and Kansas State games among others easily. But they team themselves because they were learning the spread offense and also had a new defensive scheme. Its between them and Nebraska to win the north this year..

and according to Joe Schad (with what remains of his credibility), Larry Scott thought he had a deal with Texas. So if that's the case, letting in Colorado probably wasn't that big of a deal when he thought he was getting the B12 South too.

What in the world are you talking about?

RustShack 06-14-2010 06:38 PM

Austin Arnaud was poised to be one of the Big12's better QB's last year until he got hurt. Hes healthy again and has a year down in the spread offense. Plus, this year his top 2 WR's are also healthy unlike last offseason which screwed up their receivers for the whole year last year. They have arguably the best rushing attack in the big12 and they will also have one of the better OL's this year too. The only thing I'm worried about is the LB's. They lost all three, but the three new ones are all faster and more athletic than last years. The only thing is they don't have much experience.

ok, maybe i'm the only one misunderstanding this.

there is no penalty to be paid, per se. the penalty is a withholding of a team's share of the league revenue, which is then redistributed to the other members of the league.

that's how i read the bylaws. page 14.

What does that have to do with anything? If that's the criteria, those schools should move to a smaller conference so they can win it.

The local schools are MUCH better off being in a BCS conference. You've apparently been drinking the Royals small market Kool-Aid too long.

So now you're bitter because the local schools are landing on their feet? After NU fan celebrates moving to the Big 10 and wishes other teams the best....now that things are looking fine you're disappointed. Oh those "classiest fans in the country"......

I wish Bill would go back and coach Tulsa. He was amazing there.

IF the Big 12 does fall apart, unfortunately it will take Bill Self about one season to leave KU for OSU.
