Larry Scott threw in the towel!! Game over Pac 10...........thanks for taking Colorado.
Thank you thank you Nebraska!!! You all got the **** out and now the Big 12 is the #1 RPI Conference and more money for everyone!! Man what a great day this has been compared to where we were last week!! SO NU enjoy your long ass plane rides (no more driving to watch a game) and for a final time.......go **** yourselves!! Never have to speak or hear from you again. Well in football one more time and two gimmie basketball wins for our local schools. Oh almost forgot about the penalty that you WILL have to pay............Mr. ****face Chancellor!! Enjoy your new academic "stature." |

Well that was a wild ride ending up in a whole lot of more of the same. This is a massive letdown and an embarrassment nationally but I'll get over it a lot faster in the Big 12 than in the MWC. Bottom line if Texas didn't move MU couldn't, now I just hope they try to get 2 more teams and keep the championship game.
My Winners and Losers Winners- Nebraska, Colorado, K-State, Iowa St, Baylor, Big East Losers- Missouri, Texas A&M, Big-10, Pac-10, Big 12 Potential losers(if Big 12 expands)-Boise St and the Mountain West Conference |
Invite TCU and see if you can get Arkansas to switch, given that they'll get far more TV revenue from a new contract.

Was told #Mizzou athletic dept is celebrating news that Big 12 (minus 2) is officially back on. There was grave concern at MU last few days 8 minutes ago via HootSuite  |

Damn, I was hoping that some of the pussy spread teams would come along for the ride

We disagree then, those scholarships are going to be hard to replace plus Lane Kiffin is not the best college coach there is for putting kids in the pros. Time will tell ...... 2012 is a pipe dream Dane. It could easily take 5 years to rebuild with Lane Kiffin. |

That's the kind of thinking that is ruining this country. |

Furthermore, there *is* no rebuild necessary. They just completed the season with a Freshman QB. They had an amazing recruiting haul. And contrary to all of the whining about Lane Kiffin, it appears that you missed the part where he was right about the Raiders (and especially, JaMarcus Russell) and he completed a pretty good first season for Tennessee. Two years is nothing for a school like USC. Guys will be still be lining up to attend. |

Tre Madden one of the top recruits in the country has already said he's still going to USC.

Their recruits probably know chances are they wont start their freshman or sophomore years anyways.. and some will be redshirted anyways.. The only way they hurt is if a whole bunch of their juniors and seniors walk away now. Even then they are right back in two years. Three max.
|
Plus wouldn't the sanctions hurt USC years down the road? None of the recruits for the past few years are leaving and those years USC had one of the best recruiting classes in the country.

I do think the loss of scholarships will have an impact but not anything SC can't come back from. One thing: USC had better keep their shit straight, if they commit more violations the NCAA will put the hammer down on them. |
Thank you long horns! I hope we grab a couple teams to replace the buffanos and the shuckers.
Colorado wasn't a rivalry in any respect that I will miss. I will miss Nebraska a little bit, but not all that much. Their mascot pisses me off. |
Haha. After all that, the conference is staying together?
Best possible news for KU athletics, IMO. And certainly without Colorado and Nebraska the basketball in this conference will be the strongest in the NCAA. |

The only conference that was stronger last year was the ACC, and the B12 just got rid of 2 of its weakest basketball schools. |

My question is to Iowa State fans. How do you guys pick up any wins in basketball or football now that Nebraska and Colorado are gone? You guys somehow managed to luck your way into Nebraska turning the ball over eight times last year, and surely you can't beat anybody else. Ouch.
|
LOL Why the **** is the Pac 10 taking on Colorado and no one else? It's ****ing reeruned to expand with anything less than 12 teams in order to create a conference championship game. They need to find someone.

So how much money does NU owe for leaving?
And with how they left they shouldn't be cut any slack on how much. |

Austin Arnaud was poised to be one of the Big12's better QB's last year until he got hurt. Hes healthy again and has a year down in the spread offense. Plus, this year his top 2 WR's are also healthy unlike last offseason which screwed up their receivers for the whole year last year. They have arguably the best rushing attack in the big12 and they will also have one of the better OL's this year too. The only thing I'm worried about is the LB's. They lost all three, but the three new ones are all faster and more athletic than last years. The only thing is they don't have much experience.

there is no penalty to be paid, per se. the penalty is a withholding of a team's share of the league revenue, which is then redistributed to the other members of the league. that's how i read the bylaws. page 14. http://www.big12sports.com/fls/10410...B_OEM_ID=10410 anyone else? |

The local schools are MUCH better off being in a BCS conference. You've apparently been drinking the Royals small market Kool-Aid too long. |
This is a lot like last year though, everyone dogging on me for saying ISU could finish 6-6 and that they would beat Nebraska.
