MU wanted B10 to get away from Texas. MU growled, got played. CU jumped >>>>>> NU showed their discontent with UT ..... They jumped ... C Ya >>>>>>> Texas played it cool, had no reason to jump at once. Got a better contract as everybody is the bride at UT's wedding. Pac 10 will blow up, CU will be a cupcake for years in the Pac 10, USC is / will be down for years, The Ducks will rule, Yeah! Go Ducks. AZ & AZ St could bolt later. It's a real scenario. |

The ironic thing for Colorado is it is quite possible their sports teams will get worse. It is going to be hard to get a recruit from a coastal state to go play thousands of miles away and freeze their ass off. Also, midwestern recruits won't want to play there because they don't play any schools around them and won't be on tv.

CU predominantly recruits in Cali, Arizona, and Texas. They don't recruit the Midwest. They have more alums in Pac 10 states than Big XII states. |

Colorado recruits?

CU's invitation was independent of Texas' invitation, every other schools' was conditional on a Texas acceptance. |

No..... CU will compete in a mediocre Pac 10, The Ducks should reign for a while, maybe AZ or ASU. |
Quote:
Yes, CU feels it's in a better situation, that's why they moved. It's where the football team recruits, and it's where the bulk of their out-of-state alumni are. This had nothing to do with assuming Texas was going with, or it would become a Pac 16. There's a reason why TT, OU, or OSU aren't going to the Pac 10 right now and are trying to save the Big 12, 10, or whatever, it's because they aren't getting invites unless Texas goes too. |

That feeling goes deep in Colorado. When I lived there the popular bumpersticker was "Go Back To Texas and take a Californian with You" Boulder is WAY more Pac10 than they ever were B12. |
BYU and Air Force has been invited to the Big12.

UT: How do you address me!!? B12: (sigh) Permission to speak oh fearless leader without whom there would be no Big12? UT: That's better. Permission to speak granted. B12: Uh, sir, would it be okay if we asked BYU and AF to join? UT: And split the pie 12 ways instead of 10? What did I tell you about that? B12:That I could ask whoever I wanted but don't expect any of their share to come out of UT's check? UT:Exactly. Are you done putting bag balm on Bevo? |

If Utah and BYU bolt, Boise St and the Mountain West took it on the chin really bad.
As a MU fan a Big 12 North with AF and BYU sure looks a lot better then having OU and OSU moved up North and up our ass every year. All things considered would love getting BYU but would be shocked at the Air Force move. |

USC will be back in national title contention in 2012. Alabama was given essentially the same penalty and they won it all last year. Contrary to what most people in the Midwest believe or know, the guys that chose USC do it for one reason only: It's the best path to the NFL. The overwhelming majority of players at USC are interested in getting to the NFL. USC is a young team. When they're eligible for post season play, their starting QB will be a senior. |

Yea, I think the death of USC has been greatly exaggerated.

ok, so what are your thoughts on this?
Nebraska and the Big Ten got played by Texas. You know the history. NEB hates Texas. Texas probably hates NEB just as much and knows they'd have a better time in the league without Nebraska. More so, once NEB was gone and it looked like the league was gonna fall apart, Texas stepped in to save everything. That couldn't have happened with NEB in the league. Now, about a week ago, there was a rumor floating around that TEX had an invite to the B10, which they said they would not consider unless NEB was invited as well. The B10, calling Texas out, invited NEB and they accepted. So now they're out, and TEX gets to be the hero, save the league, and wrangled a new TV contract out of Fox in the process. I realize in terms of money and academic prestige, the B10 is better. Hell, I still hope Ol Mizzou gets an invite. But.... Was this DeLoss Dodds' most triumphant power play? |
Well, after all this... I'm just ready to have some games to watch.
I'm burnt out on conference expansion stuff. |
So Roy says Usc is down for 5 years I better run to Vegas and bet on the Trojans.

I heard that the Big 12 is staying together, but they are inviting BYU and AF? Any word on Utah? I hope the MWC bands together right now, but who knows. |
