ChiefsPlanet - Chiefs Chiefs agree to trade Alex Smith to Washington

With the addition of Fuller and the return of Eric Berry, the pass rush will get a boost due to an upgrade in the secondary's coverage units over 2017.

Veach still has his work cut out for him but he does have some nice pieces already in Ford, Kpassognon, Jones and Houston.

If he can add a piece or two via free agency and a couple via the draft or trades, this defense will likely make a big jump in 2018.

Need to find the Calais Campbell of 2018. Houston is understandably a different player when there is a pass rush coming from the other side. Also need to find a stud MLB -- not convinced that the players we have currently can fill the void that will be left by DJ's exit/decline.

This is what we all need to see as far as the big picture. The Chiefs window is slowly (or quickly?) being blown wide open.

The defense is getting old but the offense is young (Hill, Hunt, PM, etc) and a top unit.

If a stud G falls and is just too good to pass up we should take him. The majority of our draft picks should be on defense though...

l think history shows that when they have good TE’s, they become a QB’s best friend especially when a play needs to be made.

I love it that Veach is using Belichic’s formula. Trade for young guys with cheap contracts that you rated high in the draft.
