I think ChUNT can run his business as he pleases.

I don't think the first round pick is going to be any big deal for a guy they are interested in. Depth of roster is the biggest thing. I don't love it either, but this is the new NFL. Ultimately every management decision is going to be run through Clark. |

And Berry's contract is virtually identical to what he asked for the year before; it's a little higher due to inflation on the salary cap but his agent tethered his demands to the amount he would've made under the tag. Those demands never moved. Dorsey did as much as he could and when Berry wouldn't budge, he relented. Nothing Dorsey did changed the amount Berry got paid relative to the cap. People are bending over backwards to defend the indefensible and they're forgetting how all this shit went down in real time. |

When they put together the supposed best roster in the NFL, not so much |

Dumber move made yesterday: Chiefs fire Dorsey or Bulls trade Butler for ham sandwich?

And no, I said McCoy is dumb as a bag of hammers and his opinion doesn't matter. |
Clark was probably upset with all the backlash of how Jamaal was let go (will be in ring of honor), Maclin needing to be let go because of terrible cap situation (Reid clearly upset), and asking to be paid top GM NFL money. No doubt he's an incredible evaluator, and will be surely missed, but thank you John for Mahomes!

Gonna start calling Clark Hunt Jerry Jones Hunt

John Dorsey wasn't going to turn down a potential long-term extension worth tens of millions of dollars because he wanted a CHANCE at returning to Green Bay. If [X] dollars has Dorsey saying "no, I want an out of the GB job opens up" then say "You may have [X]+[Y] to forego that chance at a job you may very well not even get...." And sooner or later, when [Y] gets big enough, the deal gets done. Unless this was a bitch-fit, it was a money thing. And neither of them are acceptable. John Dorsey should still be this franchise's GM. |
Outwardly we see Dorsey's apparent strengths and weaknesses. But, this smacks of something more. Maybe there were personnel problems in the organization (e.g. sexual harassment) and maybe Dorsey did a poor job in handling the situation, on top of other management lapses. Typically, companies part ways with managers regarding HR lapses and everyone is quiet about it. I don't know this to be true, but it can be an explanation behind a dismissal that otherwise makes no sense. Think Fox News.

Oh, and if you do well and ask to be paid accordingly, you may get fired anyway. There are considerable downsides to this job as well. |
