Just instant PTSD

His parents were there. I couldn’t even imagine seeing that happen.

That is not good at all!

Excuse my language but I am ****ing sick as shit over what happened to him :deevee:

Critical condition seems like the only possible report. The other option would be dead.

No, it wouldn't be any better. It'd be like going to work the next day after a loved one dies or is in critical condition. Even playing next week will be difficult, but the Bills will have no choice but to play the Patriots.

Agree and I'm sure enough players would refuse that it won't happen.

carcosa 01-02-2023 09:12 PM

They were gonna make them warm up for 5 minutes and keep playing. Unbelievable.

wbbonneriii 01-02-2023 09:12 PM

Perhaps you just give the bills the L and do not play any of the week 18 games (out of respect for the situation) and then start the playoffs the week after. The Bills were going to lose this game before the injury. You could also just suspend the game indefinitely but if the news is bad the Bills and league will not want to play this coming weekend either.

I hear you, I don't think there's anything definitive to report. Critical care means it's a precarious time for him.

They better restart the game at the point where the injury occured and not play it out from the start. I know this probably isn't the right time to say it and I'm hoping we get some good news about Hamlin soon.

I dont know why anyone is speculating anything other than this. Of course they will start the game from when the injury occured.

Honestly, I don't fault them. You have to make snap decisions in these situations and you don't always get it right.

And I don't mind people asking about football implications as well. It doesn't mean anything negative toward the player, who we all obviously care about, but we just have a lot of down time.

exactly. what are they going to do, postpone every game ? I mean at that time they didn't know the details....its probably protocol

That's what we mean. They'll each have 16 games. Just like college teams don't all play the same amount of games. Will be an advantage for the Bills in the standings but that's obviously not how they intended it.

That would not be an advantage for the Bills. 14-3 > 13-3.

philfree 01-02-2023 09:13 PM

TV people need to leave the air telling us that they'll report news as they get it. All this bloviating needs to stop.

It’s just being hyperbolic. Nobody knew what was really going on at the time including whoever made that call. Injuries happen all the time and turn out to be scarier looking than reality.

This is just piling on at this point.
