Tell them to trade you back Wil Myers for Holland, Hosmer, and Butler.

Further, both Evereth and Asdrubal Cabrera are on Waivers. My SS is Erick Aybar and Jonathan Villar

We will decline Billy's option at the end of the year then he will sign with the Yankees.

Billy will then hit 25 315 ft home runs.

That's slightly over slot, by about $100k.

It sounds like we'll see Blewett sign today as well, based on Twitter reports last night.

The guy who looks like a tough sign is Brandon Downes... his slot is only $125k or so, and it likely will take more to keep him from going back to Virginia for his senior year. His stock dropped a lot this year due to struggles with the bat, but last season he (from CF/C) was the cleanup hitter on a team that featured two other big bat guys that got drafted early. Intriguing pick, hopefully they can find enough cash to get him to the pros quickly.

Yeah, it is a Homer Bailey-esque name, isn't it?

Still, I like him overall... 6-6, 230 RHP. Big, strong kid with a fresh arm (he's a NE kid so hasn't been playing complex ball constantly). Currently throws 90-92 with a solid 11-5 curve and a fringe changeup. I'll take as many of those guys in my system as I can get.

Yep. Today wouldn't be a bad game to get rained out whereas yesterday's game would have been much better off being played. That said, we did catch Toronto at a bad time and split that series. A series split today and tomorrow would be acceptable.

We are about to enter a stretch of games that could very well decide the season. The next 9 games can put us out of it or put us on top of it.

We'll see if Ned has his gang ready to go take this division or shit down their leg. We have to come out of this no worse than 5-4 but really we need to be 6-3 or even 7-2 though that's going to be tough.

Those were retired after last season, so finding them online may be a bit tricky. The blue ones with the piping and "KC" logo took over the daytime road games for this season.

Yes sending him down and bringing him up paid huge dividends right away. He raised that average all the way from .213 when he returned on 6/18 to .225 to end the season. And his OPS went all the way from .604 to .668.

Your premise is that being sent down last season benefited Chisenhall. But it basically did nothing for him last season. By your example Moose will be doing great next season, not this season.

Prison Bitch 06-11-2014 08:08 PM

So you have no theory on Chisenhall.

If your theory is that Chisenhall has been better handled than Moustakas, I might agree with you.

Moustakas should have been demoted sometime in May, around the time Francoeur was cut loose. You were calling for it 3 weeks into the season, which I still think was too early to make that move. But when it got well into May and his two week surge collapsed into pathetic performance, yes, I think it would have done him some good to be demoted for a while to work through things.

But if you look at what the Indians got from their 3B spot when Chisenhall was down (from Aviles and Reynolds), it's actually worse performance than Chisenhall was giving. So it actually did not help the team to demote him LAST year.

If you want to talk about disappointing, look at Detroit. That team is deteriorating. Not sure that the current cold streak will last, but they are having some real troubles.

Bullpen has not been as improved as anticipated. Cabrera is coming down to earth a little bit (though V Mart is really hot). Kinsler is cooling off. Austin Jackson, Torii Hunter, Alex Avila, all having subpar years. SS a gigantic black hole. Castellanos just "OK."

Still a very beatable team for the Royals. Especially if Verlander continues to be so below par.

No doubt, I have a hunch they will continue to spiral downward for another 40 - 50 games.

Let us pray.

Meanwhile the Rays have the worst record in the MLB by far, Myers is hitting 227 and on the DL and Odorizzi is 2-7 with a 4.85 ERA. :) Trade still looking very good.

Will they be unloading any offensive talent at the deadline?

If we were just .500 within our division, we would be leading by 2 games. We have to take care of our division better.

So you have no theory on Chisenhall.

I don't care because last season clearly was not an indicator of this season in his case. I am just pointing out your comparison is not yet valid or proof of anything in relation to Moustakas.

If anyone wants it, I believe I saw MLB.tv is on sale for half off of the remainder of the season.

They don't have much of it.

They basically have James Loney and Evan Longoria, and I doubt the Rays get rid of Longoria anytime soon. Loney is a first basemen who hits for average, but not much power if I am correct.

The real trade target for teams from the Rays is David Price. Price doesn't look to be himself this year, 3.97 ERA. From an article I just read on MLBTR, it looks like the Rays want nothing less than 3 top prospects for Price. From that same article it mentions that Price's velocity is down and that there is no guarantee he resigns with the team he is traded to after the season is over. Highly doubt the Rays are going to get what they want for David Price.

I mean hell, the Rays just ended a 31 inning scoreless streak today.
