Yeah, it's pretty well known the only reason the SEC took Missouri was to balance out taking A&M while Missouri was begging any conference that would listen they wanted out from under Texas'/OU's thumb... and that they're the red headed stepchild of the conference if you talk to fans of any other SEC team.

Any time I see some random "what's the worst/most regrettable decision of conference realignment" pop up on social media, Missouri is immediately mentioned.

Hell, if Missouri was really SEC-worthy, why the hell would so many of their fans spend so much time comparing themselves to poor little Kansas. I seriously doubt OU and Texas will spend the next decade talking about KU. :shrug:

Pulling an article from 2012...and rants on a BB from 2017 and 2018 from guys who are old school SEC? I hear it all the time living in the heart of SEC country...and yet at the end of the year they all have to backtrack because MU is better than predicted most of the time.

Most of us only reference KU when the Hawk's fans come in to chide us about being the "after thought" of the SEC...

I compare us to how the other SEC schools are doing....and yes we have had down years (almost all the time in BB) but MU is doing fine raking in SEC money and building a FB program that will compete in the SEC...the best football conference in the nation, not against the also-ran conference that just lost 2 of the key members.

The only reason anyone at MU complained was because we had a much better record and would be playing down to our opponent from a ranking perspective.
