NY Daily News' Manish Mehta reports the Jets are looking to trade Le'Veon Bell before Tuesday's 4 p.m. ET deadline.
Shipping Bell out of town following a half-season of service would leave behind $13.19 million in dead cap hits over the next two years. Signed to an outrageous four-year, $52.5 million deal with $27 million guaranteed this offseason, Bell's contract was arguably the biggest disagreement between Gase and now-fired GM Mike Maccagnan; Maccagnan was the one making the calls on the Bell signing and the outrageous contract handed out to off-ball ILB C.J. Mosley. Despite wanting no part of it, it's extremely unlikely Gang Green's able to find an organization willing to take on the 27-year-old's contract, which is fully guaranteed through 2020. Mehta cited the Texans, Chiefs and Bills as likely suitors. https://www.rotoworld.com/sports/nfl/football Cap numbers and right/wrong move aside, can you imagine the reaction around here if the Chiefs made a play for Bell? But it's also the Jets. |
I'd still see what the Seahawks are thinking about with Rashaad Penny.
Never thought he was a smart use of a 1st rounder and probably wouldn't have even used a 2nd on him, but I'd have considered it. With this season and 2 more on his rookie deal, he's probably worth a 3rd to someone. And for the record, I STILL want Mike Boone. That kid can play but the Vikings have an embarrassment of riches at HB. |

No thanks. LOVED Penny as an Aztec, thought he was going to be a great Pro. Watching him in Seattle, that's not the same Rashaad. IDK what his playing weight is, but dude has seemed to balloon a bit in the pros and looks slower. |
I hate big money RBs but even I would love Hell right now.

Cap hit aside, there's no denying that Bell makes this a better football team. |
Also, we're talking about Adam Gase and the Jets. They'll give him away for peanuts. Getting ass ****ed on personnel moves is what they do.

I’m not good at this. But wouldn’t the jets still have to pay the guaranteed portion of the contract? Or am I getting that wrong. Because if so, he is a bargain

Not that it's realistic, but could you ****ing imagine:
Mahomes Bell / Shady / Dam. Will / Dar. Will / Thompson Hill / Watkins / Hardman / D Rob / Pringle Kelce (side note, we still need a TE #2 / TE OTF) |
The Chiefs could pull that if they add more of his money into this year actually......
